In brief, I purchased a name from Pool Sunday evening. The name belonged to a freight/insurance company. I have recieved 40 hits as of today from having it parked at Sedo. I tried to contact the company and they have not responded. Should I fork over the money and have it in the featured listing catagory at Sedo or should I wait a little while to let it gain traffic? I am unable to develope it, so that is not an option for me. Thank you in advance.

Sorry, why would you care if you contacted the company? They let it drop, and I would guess for a specific reason.

Hello. The name is MiCarga.com. I tried to contact the company because I thought they had let it expired by mistake. Thank you

Why were you unable to contact the company? Did you call them? How do you know they have not gone out of business? Why don't you just keep domain and earn revenue?

I e-mailed them and they did not reply. I could leave it parked at Sedo, but the adverts are lame and I am only getting approx .7 cents. Is there a place that you could recommend that I could earn more at? Is there a parking place that pays per click on the page too? Sedo only pays for a click-through. I am a newbie and I really appreciate any advice that you pros can give me...Thank you

If you leaved it parked, those 40 visitors will dry up in a couple of months. Best to develop a new website.

I just don't get this philanthropy thing. So you see a company name has expired and you want to save their skin by registering it for them, and then give it to them for nothing?

Hello, I was hoping that by contacting them, it might spark their interest in buying it from me or making a donation to a local charity.

well Sedo premium listing is not worth it. i have a friend who once tried it and had no luck with it.

therefore i would say u should keep the domain or try to sell it

try to give a call to them or may be fax them if u r so desperate to get to them ;)

Just try to find a parking company which pays you a good CPC and make the money while the traffic lasts. I'm sure, if the freight/insurance company dropped it by mistake, they will themselves be frantically trying to contact you, rather than you.

So try some better paying parking service. Every day is valuable because the traffic may not last. As for developing the website, make sure why the previous company let the domain drop. Did they go bankrupt, closed down, what kind of a reputation they had, etc. No point developing a tarnished domain name which had any suspicious activity associated with it.

Premium listing might not be a good idea. MiCarga doesn't seem to hold any potential as a name alone, unless the insurance company was very well known and reputable. Honestly, if this domain was listed right now in premium sells, I wouldn't bother about it.

In short, do your research and keep it parked till you get a better idea. Try to break even with your Reg fees as a first goal.
