If you knew how to get any page placed in the top ten or top twenty results of Google for almost any keyword(s) you choose, what affiliate programs would you choose to go with?

Assume that you will be making attractive sites to promote the affiliate programs.

How could you cash in on the traffic most effectively and make the big bucks?

Well, concerning the vague question...

What are some names of aff. programs which you might recommend? I was thinking about Netflix, Walmart, skinnyguy.net to name a few. I was interested to see what aff programs people would suggest.. No, I'm not looking for "Try CJ" as an answer...

As far as, "build attractive sites..." goes, I meant that I would have to create the pages to "sell the aff stuff" and couldn't just use url forwarding to affiliate links (doesn't work for this particular strategy).

But, going forward in this post... Please provide names of good affiliate programs which have nice ads to display and pay well per conversion.. I'm more insterested in getting a high payout for 1 conversion, than a low payout for many.

The programs I would recommend would depend *entirely* on the keywords.

I couldn't recommend netflix for web hosting keywords. Walmart may not be a good program for all types of sites. See what I'm saying?

There are hundreds of good affiliate programs out there, to recommend one, a person would have to know what your needs are or what your site is about (or what keywords you are trying to monetize).

This may be why you have received "try cj" as an answer. Since CJ has so many merchants, it's very likely that you can find a merchant to match those keywords you rank highly for.

I could recommend any number of affiliate programs, but the conversion would depend on the site and keywords.

If you can give more specifics, I'd be happy to recommend programs that I've personally had success with.

I applied as an affiliate for Walmart a long time ago, but it was run by LinkShare and I don't think I ever heard back about whether I got in or not... I'm already a NetFlix and SkinnyGuy affiliate so I'll probably just use them as a starting point. I'm interested in Dental Plans and also Loan Quotes/Referrals.

Without a specific topic, there's just too many affiliate programs to recommend just one. It's like asking for a fine wine recommendation without telling the person what kind of meal you're having Ok, not the best analogy, but somewhere along those lines.

I definitely know a thing or two about the affiliate game

netflix.com is where you can signup as an affiliate and it takes about a week or two to be approved. They are the most popular dvd by mail rental service in the US. SkinnyGuy.net is some weight gain program that I read about online, and was so impressed with, that I went and bought the dude's material. It was working great till I got a full time job and couldn't squeeze in all the meals and workouts conveniently...

I think Google sounds nice, but there's gotta be someway to make more money through referrals when your high in the search results, than simply putting up Google Ads...

I tried to, but no one wanted to give specifics.

Affiliate programs are only as good as the traffic you send to them.

So, again, I would need to know what kind of traffic you are trying to monetize before I can suggest the right affiliate program.

Sure there is (well sometimes). But what method you choose depends on the search results you show up high for.
