I have thought about selling PlanetShattered.Com, which used php software I wrote from scratch. It uses one or two open source scripts (phpmailer and tinymce) but the rest is 100% original object oriented coding.

I put about 8 months into the development and am wondering how much one might offer for the site, which shows great potential. I am sure the smart thing to do, is to wait until next year, which I will probably be PR5 by then, but I could use some extra money now for bills.

Please let me know how much you think I could get for it now or if you think I should let it develop more first. Heck, even let me know if you might want to buy.

My stats from awstats are below, lost a lot of stats for previous months when I upgraded to a bigger server.

Apr 2009 1096 Uniques 2332 Visits 148272 Pageviews
May 2009 1408 Visits 2701 Visits 283400 Pageviews

The software is very optimized and can house a lot of users on at any given moment, even on just a P4 with 2 GB RAM.

Does the site currently earn any revenue? According to your post, I assume 2332 is a monthly figure, so we're looking at 77~ unique visitors a day.

I think unless you desperately need funds, consider developing it more. I know you're getting almost 100 uniques a day, but given your public site statistics, it does not look like there is much play activity. With a cleaner web layout, and a little advertising, your site value could grow exponentially. Consider keeping it for a bit longer.

It fluctuates between about 77 and 140 uniques per day, a good percentage organic google and yahoo slurp.

I think you confirm what my instincts tell me, my g/f said "don't sell your baby". LOL

I figure that once I get to PR5, I will sell then if need be. I developed it first as a demo to sell my mmorpg software, but I have taken a liking to the site and the players. Money is a little of an issue, jobs are becoming scarce here, but I don't want to lose a good investment either.

Thanks for the kind advice friend:)
