PhpFox, SocialEngine, Elgg, Dolphin, or other social network scripts?

Hi,

I am trying to decide which script to buy for a social network site. Does anyone know which one is the best and do you guys actually have one yourself already in place? Thanks in advance.

I tried searching some topics, but still can't decide which one is the best.

Ive been messing around with dolphin in the past week, it looks great and they offer a free version as long as you don't mind the ads all over it. Only problem is all the addons and the templates cost a lot of $$ I was looking the other day at a vB integration which looked fantastic and is exactly what idd need but the integration alone costs $200, so in total you could be looking at $700 for a basic set up of dolphin life time, vB license and the integration.

That's just an example the other adds ons arnt so bad, $20-40 here and there, or you could always make your own!
