Hey this thing is good. Its simple and nice. I have a few comments tho.
1. The header looks way too simple. I think you can shift the Login bar or something to the header.
2. I think the slow grey fade out (or whatever its called) will look better if its slower. I mean the first topic is too grey and the last is total white. It would be awesome if its a little gradual. Maybe it will look good with lot of topics.
3. I kinda dont like the "Last Post" row. Its nice that it shows the last poster's name but hey wheres the name of the topic?

Other than these, I think it is a great and simple template.

VERY nice, although, i completely agree with Vatsan in regards of some of the elements, like logo, and such. at the same time, if someone uses your template they wouldn't leave the current logo anyways. For your own use i'd suggest a more advanced logo, and a FavIcon though.

Why don't get bored again and make a template/skin for SMF-simple machines forum, based on it's default skin

It looks OK, but I don't really like the gradients. I'm not a big fan of gradients on anything but graphics.
