I have purchased a script. It is supposed to be installed by them by Monday.
I will see how it goes and post here when I see it how it works.

I can say that their support does seem to be pretty quick.

I am probably gonna give it a shot also. I have a small city portal I want to get online ASAP.

The makers of PHP City Portal srcript (http://phpcityportal.com ) - are selling their scrip for $99 to first time customers. You have to use coupon code: FIRST at checkout.

What do you mean "1 City Guarantee" ?

You are going to keep track of cities worldwide ensuring the first purchaser that you will not sell to that city?

What if I purchase, than notice someone else using the software in my city?

Thanks, software looks good.

A: We do not keep track of who owns the script per city.

A: No. Anyone can purchase this script for any city as many times as they would like.

But for only $99 it is a great deal to try out.

okay, BUT...

What does that Top image mean then? The one that says "No Competition, One City Name Per Portal'?

Is this your company? Cause you refer to the company as "they"

I probably will purchase, just waiting to read some feedback.

Thanks

Yes, I am part of PHP City Portal. Sorry, I did not even realize I was talking in 3rd person. Habit I guess. Anyway, that header is about to change, as we used to lease out the script up until last week, when we decided to sell it, as many users rather own the license than lease it to keep it on their server. You will see that header change soon. Sorry about the confusion.

Okay, that explains it. I'll think about this one, like I said it looks good.

OK...We are still working on it but I will say that the support (Michael) at phpCity Portal has been fantastic so far. I am severely tech-challenged and he has been really helpful.
I think that almost anyone is more savvy than me so I think you will probably not need the amount of support I have...lol.
I am just putting a few quickly put together placeholders in for ads and a link or two to my own sites right now so I can get a feel for the site.. But this does seem to be a very robust site script.
I am really pleased with the result so far....but it is only a few hours old...

Hopefully I will have more time and it will have a few more things ready in the next couple of days and I can post a link...

Will this work okay for Canadian Cities? I assume it will but when I tried to check my weather I get "No Such Place", is this just a matter of changing a bit of code?

Thanks

We will change the restrictions in the code for number and letter characters to be used for Canadian cities. http://www.buyandsellottawa.com will actually allow number and letter zip codes. :)

No, Canadian Postal codes come up empty, no info.

I'm sure you guys can fix easy though.

yes, in that case, since the rss weather feed does not allow you to enter the postal code for Canada, we have instructed the user to enter the city name to their local weather. If you see here it shows it how it will be for Canada: http://www.buysandsellottawa.com
