In adobe photoshop is there a way to uncombine layers once you combined them and save it?

No, the only way you can edit an image is if it's in an editable form like .psd

Photoshop (and its creators) can't be responsible for such user's decisions :)
Remember - always keep your original PSD file unflattened, with all the layers. Even if you think that the work is done, you might need to change something some day.

you can seperate certain parts of it tho with ctrl+j i think it is

You cant unmerge layers but you can ctrl z it and ctrl alt z again if you didnt close the program alredy.

Yeah the Ctrl+z works good when you also set the number of undi's to maximum, in preferences (default is about 35 if i don't mistake)

or go to your history palet, but it only works on the secsion that you use, so basicly once you close your file, the history gets deleted upon the next time opening it up.
