Photoshop CS help

i have a prob on photoshop cs where i cannot get white... but when open some of my older psd files i sometimes can access white but only onto those files. Not on new files... color FFFFFF gives me a creamish yellow. ne help ??

use RGB colour colaboration. anyway, on the colour picker just move it right up to white - simple. oh, and i really dont understand why #FFFFFF is not giving you white, thats just screwed up.
