I'm fairly sure this is against the PayPal TOS and PayPal will not protect you as a buyer in such a transaction - be careful who you go with.

Will they not allow such transaction or will they just not protect me if something happens?

I'm not sure. I know it's against their TOS to switch PayPal to ePassPorte and many other 3rd party merchants. Their support isn't that great, and considering the size - they probabley don't monitor transactions that closely enough to even see a violation like this.
