Just learned that Paypal is sueing Pandora over the logo....

Same font (not sure), the P is filled in, the lighter blue is pretty much the same. 3 similarities. Even the very bottom right of the P, both kind of rounded. The parking sign pic above is different. And then they had those tweets from people saying it's confusing them. Who knows.

If paypal doesn't "defend" their mark then it becomes worthless. Pandora caused the lawsuit.

I will say that I've often mistakenly opened up my Pandora app instead of PayPal, and vice versa. Imho, the logos are indeed confusingly similar.

PAYPAL HAS NO CHOICE

A trademark has to be defended and in this case the sooner PayPal acts the better their odds at winning.

Pandora should change the font slightly and go with a different color. The two shades of blue with the p filled in is a clear paypal trademark.

I agree they look different and am unsure the lawsuit will hold, but FWIW, I (often) confuse the difference between my PayPal App and Pandora App.

I must be the odd one out. I don't see any similarity between the logos. Different blue. Shorter legs, fatter head, standing upright. Different industry. Why would a music company want to copy the logo from a financial behemoth?

I don't know stub, "similar" doesn't have to be exact. I got letters from Google for a logo on one of my sites that just resembled Google slightly. It was a sizeable site. I changed my logo to get them to back off though. In this situation the two are even closer.
