I want to check if I have a password
stealer or whatever they are called
in my system.

Anyone have any suggestions of a good one? (free)
one that actually removes it instead of just telling you where
it is and then asks for a creditcard number...
 right, like I'm going to put that info in the computer
at this point - duh!!!

I tried something called exterminateit, but something happened
during the scan and I'm not sure if it's resolved yet...

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks :)

Just something I Googled:

HOW TO REMOVE A KEYLOGGER?

Most keyloggers work in the same manner as the computer viruses and therefore can be found and removed with the help of effective antivirus products like Symantec Norton AntiVirus, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, McAfee VirusScan, eTrust EZ Antivirus, Panda Titanium Antivirus, AVG Anti-Virus. Some advanced spyware removers, which are able to scan the system in a similar way antivirus software does and have extensive parasite signature databases can also detect and remove keyloggers and related components. Powerful anti-spyware solutions such as Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta, Spyware Doctor, Ad-Aware SE, SpyHunter, eTrust PestPatrol or Spybot - Search & Destroy are well-known for perfect keylogger detection and removal capabilities.

You can try AVG free.

Thanks for the post
I have AVG in my system already, it runs all
the time.
But my computer has been acting funny and I saw something called 6to4
which I was told is a password stealer
and I thought maybe AVG missed it :)

I don't have the files anymore, I don't keep them.
I also don't back things... up as per your advice ^ ...

I followed the instructions on the symantic website,
and removed the files it told me to...a certain .dll in
the parameters folder of about 19 files
Then when the computer restarted....all that was there
was my wallpaper D-:

When I checked task manager instead of the usual 25-29 processes,
there was only 7 :(

I had to reinstall windows all over again :'(

FREE! SnoopFree Privacy Shield

http://www.download.com/SnoopFree-P...00.html?part=111521%20&subj=dlpage&tag=button

Protect yourself from keyloggers and activity monitors with this FREE Windows XP product.

Editor's review of SnoopFree Privacy Shield
SnoopFree Privacy Shield will tell you if someone is spying on you, although the program doesn't fully uninstall nosy applications. While its interface is dull, this fast-acting program immediately alerts you when a spy module is found and gives you options to allow or disallow the uncovered application. It worked beautifully in evaluations, instantly exposing the monitoring tools we installed to test it. SnoopFree Privacy Shield revealed the names of the spy tools, their corresponding file paths, and even pinpointed which files from the spy program captured keyloggers, screenshots, and opened windows. You'll be able to instantly remove the files, blocking their logging efforts altogether, but once files are deleted it requires a system reboot to take effect. Although this application doesn't uninstall monitoring applications for you, it eliminates the need for the software's password by going after the files. Any user concerned with security and privacy should consider adding this simple, yet effective freeware program to his or her security toolkit.
