Hello All,

I am looking for a partner that can help make my graphic design forum more active. www.TokyoLondon.net

Over the past 3 months since it has been up and running i have managed to get 42 members but they do not seem to be posting.

I have also got the traffic from nothing to at at least 1000 unique visitors a month, Also gaining a pagerank of 1.

The site is listed 3rd on page 3 for "graphic design forum" on google and 2nd on page 3 for "graphic design forums".

If you think you have got what it takes to get the site active then please PM me and please provide proof of past experience.

I will be able to offer a 50/50 split on all profits made from ads.

:) Look forward to hearing from you.

Joe

I had a peek at your site. Let me tell you something right now that will increase your conversions....

*drum roll*

For a Graphic Design Site/Forum it needs to be visually appealing.

For example... I am a member of several digital graphic communities and here are links.

Look at each of them and see what they offer, and how they present themselves.

Then go back to your site and rank it against theirs.

And no, I am not concerned over the fact they have more money than you, because in all honesty, you can have a great looking site absolutely free.

Also switch to phpBB forum at least or your forum won't do well. There is a very good reason why people Prefer VBulletin and PHPBB

PHPBB is totally free and you can get tons of features added to your site that a graphics community will absolutely love.

I am a digital artist as well and know what I am talking about.

kk...links to site of interest:

The above is one of the most famous forums ever. All the masters of art post on there frequently... anything from the creators of Lord of the Rings to the artists of the Matrix and more. No Joke. These forums were designed for artists to create a profile and submit their portfolios to get noticed. And yes, I am a member on there.

The above is a list of GFX sites that cater to people who create signatures. There is an amazing world out there just waiting to be discovered.

The above is another forum I frequent. Some really great designers on it. I actually found designers for some of projects on it and made deals offering them a good sum for their designs. In turn I used it on my sites.

But still, look at all of these forums and wonder why they are popular.

1) Some cater to specific niches like "Signatures"

2) The forum design attracts people.

3) You need run contests and hold "art battles" to generate interest.

4) Think of anything else...there are many things you can do.

You know... you have a nice domain name. Why not capitalize on it? What does the word Tokyo bring to mind? Design-High Tech Fashion and Computers.

Yeah, I just read the other poster first sentence or two and agree.. LOL.. I didn't read any further. So, I might say the same thing..

Though, in IMHO..
==============

-I like your logo, but apparently you need to make it a bit larger/wider.. Just a bit, because the pixels look squeezed and hard to read a little..

- You need to change your talking bubble quotes that are thread bullet points. They need to be atleast smaller and a different color. Though, I think, if you insert an arrow design 'pointing to the new thread', would be good here..

-Also, you need to change the bubble quotes on your menu at the bottom... By just glancing, I wouldn't know what is a new forum posted between no new posts.. Plus, they are a bit too big. Make easy on the user, to just glance and see no new posts, new posts, and locked forum.

- Just because, your logo has a bubble quote,, doesn't mean you have to use it everywhere.

Then, on the frontpage still.. You need to fill in the white with color. Preferably light colors,, where black is readable.. This is in the middle where your posts list is posted. It makes it hard on the eyes.. Maybe, the right bar a slightly lighter color than the left bar in the same color tone.. With a small black border surrounding the two cells, of post all the way across..

- The the top of the frontpage, put color into and connect. Why not just make the menu bar and login bar all black, and touching (connecting).. Then this black bar, touching the purple, just as all of your other purple and black table rows.. And, if you can, make the menubar a mousover table cell.. Which will define the top menu, to a title. Which your titles are apparently black and white text..

I guess, that is about it... but, I did notice a forum design I liked today.. It kinda suprised me that it was this good.. http://www.forexforum.net . Though, I would change this a bit too..

Hey, I hope you get your forum running, but you do need to upgrade the design a bit...

Also, I am in the middle of designing a site,, basic page of nowbuy.net/index3.html , if you want to see my past experience.. Just for giggles...

And, don't steal the design, because the basic design is copyrighted.. LOL

One thing to draw in more members would be a new domain name, TokyoLondon isnt that appealing, especially for a graphics forum :P
