Hi, I have just been looking at parody domains of official websites, below are a few I have come across. Feel free to share any others you may know of.
OFFICIAL - PARODY
Whitehouse.gov - Whitehouse.org/.net
worldbank.org - Whirledbank.org
georgebush.com - GeorgewBush.org
preparingforemergencies.gov.uk - preparingforemergencies.co.uk
I have thought about making a parody of justice.gov with the name justice.info
But I am thinking doing so is probably not such a great idea... so might just use the domain for a justice related blog or something else less controversial. Or if anybody has any other suggestions?
Some interesting info at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitehouse.com
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitehouse.org
From the above link: "This type of behavior with trademarks led the United States government to the passage of the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act. The ACPA, however, only protects the registration of trademarks as domain names and would not help the U.S. government with the registration of the names of its offices or agencies."
