Parking Traffic prior to a Sale?

Just wondering, is traffic to a parked domain a sign or indication of a pending sale, or does it show possible interest from potential buyers? I have a few domains that are steady with visitors every day, and then a couple, that will get a quick boost in visitors out of nowhere. Wondering if there is a correlation? Anybody have experience with this?

It's possible. But really it's the nature of the parking industry. Traffic/Clicks are always volatile. It might also be because something was in the news, so searches or visitors might increase for a short time.

Look at web.archive.org and see if the domain was previously developed. If so, it could be traffic trickling in from backlinks and things like that. Also, if the name is something that could be directly typed in that could be another reason for the traffic as well.
