Just stumbled on this question once again after so many months.

- It is so that you are not allowed to make backlinks for your parked pages.

- Traffic is allowed from expired domains which could have existing backlinks somewhere on the internet.

So what is the difference between a freshly made link traffic and an old link traffic. :(

I think I am missing something. :'(

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
1) Pre-existing links aren't under your control. New links are, which opens up the possibility of you manipulating traffic. I believe this is the main reason.

2) Old links were made when the domain was an actual site. If you're building new links you would be knowingly sending people to a parked page - you may be less concerned with visitor quality than visitor quantity.

Manipulating traffic, quality of traffic - I think those are the main reasons.

Not very thoughtful either - when a visitor clicks on a link, they expect to find a "real" site, not a frustrating collection of maybe-relevant links they can follow to other sites.

Okay so if I start a blog and as it is blog I want to do marketing for it so I am making links for it. Lets say 10,000 links.

Now I am not interested in blog anymore so I park my domain name. To make it more interesting lets say I park it after 6 months.

Wouldn't it be pump and dump scenario?

Yeah, it definitely gets into a gray area if you were the former site owner -

It would be great if someone from one of the big parking services could comment on that one ...

Yes I am just trying to bring out some points here. Would like to hear something from some parking company owners, if possible.

I did have thread like this earlier on other forums also but no one commented.

It has been debated but I havent ever heard real answers from people who would care. (parking service owners)

Parked sites are getting better and better - thus more relevant and useful. Would it be so bad to link to some parked sites. I mean the visitors from a link are already opt in. They have decided that this is a website with a domain that interests me.

I don't get it either. Come on Parking Site Developers and reps - Step up!

Now we see who cares and who don't.

I think we as domain owners we know for sure once we buy our name what we will do for it , so let say your first plan was do develop it and after sometimes you find out that your losing money and you decide to park it, to my knowledge this will not consider as fresh made link, but if your sole purpose was to develop link for parking name or for the name which you know you will end up parking it that will considered as fraud.
But again there is no real black and white here is up to you as domain owners to be honest with with your action. Like any other businesses have their boundaries and loopholes. just be carefull

I'm new at parking domains....aren't we allowed to create new links that point to parked domains?
I think it's weird and don't get why we shouldn't :|
