I can't edit or change any keywords this morning. I notified my account manager, but don't know if anyone at parked is monitoring this thread anymore...

I can't change my keywords either. Get errror message. Sure they will have fixed it soon.

The best way to get Parked support is with your account manager. Due to the recent events I don't expect there will be much support provided here for awhile.

Last pay period was my best ever. I am seeing the improvements now.

Donny actually responded to the issue to me directly and quickly. They are working on the problem right now. He said it works, but there is a 45 second wait period, and they are working on the issue.

Good times ahead

I saw a big improvement in the last pay period. Most of my traffic is US. I did not see it when the changes were announced but I can now.

My Parked earnings are much more consistent. I am not having one good day, followed by a bad day or two. Revenue is looking up.

BB gazed into his Crystal Ball today sees something new and helpful soon for NPers who use Parked. LOL

Still waiting for my account to activated by parked, any ideas how long this process normally takes?

Thanks

I thought this thread was the best thread on any domain forum, and actually my favorite on the Net. There was some good info just in this thread that could not be found elsewhere, as now there are so many new, uniformed domainers are joining the ranks and filling the boards with nonsense posts.

This place was also like the 24hr gossip/complaint channel for Parked.com.....LOL. It was a lot of fun while it lasted. :)

Now, it feels like the collapse of the Tower of Babel and we have all walked away in different directions speaking different languages. It's truly sad. I made several friends just on this thread over time.

I also miss Tony cajoling Donny : "Donny, is it a slow train bringing in the stats today from Yahoo?" :)

Oh jeez...what to do?
.

We WILL survive!...maybe for now Donny can send an official rep to our thread (Sonny, Bonny, or Ronny ;))...but you are absolutely correct SB, at least we made some good solid friendships over time! :)

Anybody know what Parked does with traffic going to something other than the main domain name?

For instance "samplesite.com/blahblahblah" instead of "samplesite.com". I have a site that gets a lot of traffic from old backlinks like that.

Also this same site's traffic is mostly from China. Anyone have good luck monetizing Chinese traffic with Parked?

Not-existing links will show up an error in browser where you type link: www.samplesite.com/?404=Y. I aint sure if Parked still credits you for the clicks on this page "404" page, however I will try and get an answer from Donny on this.

I think you should monetize those links and redirect 'em to your main page to be able to generate and secure potential revenue in the meanwhile.

hope this helps, cheers!

Thanks for the help. Yeah, I noticed when you type garbage after the domain name you get the "?404=Y" page. I hope I get credit for clicks there.

Not sure how to redirect each individual links. Especially since there are so many of these old backlinks. Redirect them one at a time from the registrar?

Please let me know if Donny gets back to you on this. It would also be great if you could ask him about the Chinese traffic. Thanks!

Chinese traffic is garbage. If that's mostly what you're getting, you may do better to just dump those Chinese traffic domains. Or, especially if the traffic is relatively high, try monetizing them in some different way other than parking.

If Chinese traffic is only a portion of a particular domain's traffic, then another approach is geo-targeting. Parked doesn't offer that feature, even though they do it internally, for domainers. It may be worthwhile to try out some other parking / affiliate programs for those domains getting a lot of Chinese traffic. Or do geo-targeting on your own and filter out / send elsewhere the Chinese traffic, but that involves programming and may not be worth the hassle.

I have sent a request to Donny, will update you once he gets back on this!
And redirect 'em one at a time if possible, so that you dont lose on your potential revenue IMO

That's a good question.

I did a bit of research. In this example I use the domain chicagoiphone.com

cheap.chicagoiphone.com - will resolve to your Parked page for the TLD.

chicagoiphone.com/cheap - will resolve to your Parked page for the TLD, and Parked will flag it with the ?404=Y parameter after the URL, or more precisely http://chicagoiphone.com/?404=Y. I believe that these type of queries are isolated in your Parked traffic reports as "404" results.

Hope this helps a bit, as I'm certainly not a parked.com pro.

Well, does 21,000 uniques a month seem worth it? I'm thinking it might be.

Never heard of them, I'll check them out. Thanks.

This could take a while....but hey, no one ever said trying to make some money was easy, right?

Thanks for looking into this. Yeah, that has been my experience too. But I am wondering if Parked pays on the 404s. So far no clicks yet to really know. Heck, no clicks yet should tell me enough that I need to find another way to monetize this traffic. I opened a NameRich account to see how that goes. But I would really like to stay with Parked if it makes sense to do so.
