Yup, I'm in the tank too. It's not Parked; I moved some stuff around but it's the same thing everywhere else too. AdSense is doing great, but parking, not so much.

I have to admit I miss the better days also...I just read today that Hitfarm wants to come out with some kind of "hybrid" domain monetization model...I do hope something like that is in the works for Parked.com...There are just too many domainers parking for the whole business to crumble down...

Wow, I just looked at my stats after reading some posts here....

Took a hit this last week, but really took a hit yesterday. Down on 2 rock solid domains. Traffic on one, and PPC on the other. Weird, traffic fell off the cliff on one (<60% Yikes!), and PPC fell of the cliff on the other (<75% Yikes!)

They're totally separate domains and industries too.

Just did a little domain shufflin', see what happens next. Hope it's just a blip on the radar screen, not a full blown industry wide torpedo.

Could it be because of the Jewish Holiday this week??

@zabijaq

You can edit the main-keyword. I speak of the related-searches keyword.

If you ever did a search for keywords for maybe "loan" you can notice that every keyword has his own price in for example adwords. So I presume "Loan" for itself will have one of the higher clickprices. But there are much more that have much lesser clickprice.

The clickprice itself will say how much money you will make at a click on a ad of your parking-page. You dont get the full price but you get more for highpriced keywords and less for low-priced. Simply because the advertiser dont pay more to that keywords.

So having a list of related searches optimized in order, in clickprice and in relevance it does make a big difference.

The first thing is with really optimized keywords for related searches you can bring the mass of people to click. And by giving them related searches based on highpriced keywords you get a lot more money for clicks too.

Thats the simple thing...

It makes a big difference what related searches are shown. The more away from the thing the visitor is searching the more fast he is gone. Because he must search the right term and so on. Visitors wont work.

And if the top-related-searches are lowpriced...

Theres a system of clickbehaviour in the menus too. Parked is easy. There are only lists with one column or one line. Others have lists with 4 keywords to 3 keywords. Then its a more difficult term because the most clicked keywordplaces arent ordered that simple.

To make it short. It would make a difference... I would be happy to see this optimizing-possibility on parked too...

Greetings!
Sebastian

I've noticed that Hitfarm has started putting banners on their parked pages.... top and bottom. That's a start. I'm sure Parked has been working on some new ideas as every parking company has to be feeling the pressure to move parking to the next level. The entire industry has become stagnant, boring, and not as lucrative as it used to be. I'm really looking for something that breaks the mold. Whoever invents/creates it will reap millions in cash as a flood of domainers are just waiting for a break.

Most of domainers just don't want to develop or don't know how....... and simply want somebody else to invent something that will make us all much more money. Some may call that lazy...... but hell it takes the majority of the day working lists and finding new domains, optimizing them, etc..... and then there is not much time for serious development. I'm looking for a solution handed to me on a silver platter. I don't want to do serious development......I've been there, done that...... and when I did I missed a part of the famous drop-catching era of 2000-2002.

Yes..... Parking domains with any company is totally sucking right now.....I've never seen it this bad. We need some solutions quick.

Unfortunately Google is extremely unfair to Parked.com pages :(

Biased against Parked? Could it be perhaps Parked is not using a Google feed? Would it help if these pages are moved to another domain parking company, like maybe ND or Bodis?

Not really...Google doesn't actually go the domain name or page type. I think you'll find they go by the nameservers.

As for Namedrive and Bodis, well....I moved my portfolio to namedrive (for a month) and got some results I wasn't expecting. They did extremely well for some names there, in fact better than on Parked, but overall are in the same ballpark as far as earnings overall. Bodis on the other hand is in a state of flux, which I hope they come out of, because Matt has done some great work there. A better feed would make them a More viable option.

Hopefully Donny and the crew will be able to unleash something that increases the earning potential at Parked, whether it be new template designs or WYSIWYG editors or the ability to make the whole shebang look more like a real web page....only time will tell.

Google just doesn't like parked pages from anyone full stop. Once the parking companies find a way to increase the actual usefulness of these pages i.e. make them a more useful to the average user, instead of just a bunch of links, then maybe things will improve.

Yahoo could help itself out by just simply increasing their coverage globally...but sadly, they can't seem to see the forest for the trees.

Have a little faith in Donny. I'm sure we will see something new in the not too distant future. :)

I know there has been some rumors about Google using nameservers, but we have proven those wrong. I have heard some rumors about people saying it's the ip address that the domain is on, we have proven those wrong as well. The only thing that we can tell is that Google hits the page and can tell it's a parking page. One of my jobs is to try and tell them it's not. :)

What about the economy and all this financial turmoil in the markets? Surelly this has to have a negative impact.

Markets are going up today. Hopefully they hang in there for the rest of the week and then start recovering. :$:

Jason - Don't worry I thought it was the nameservers or IP addresses myself.

dwikristianto - We have sent your activation code to you on multiple times now. Not sure what else to do now.

I haven't seen any ads on any Hitfarm domains. So if anybody has an example, let me know.

I can't remember any of the sites I ran across....next time I see one I'll let you know. I just remember seeing it and searching the Whois to see what parking co. was doing it and it was Hitfarm.
