Paralel Universes And You

I posted this to my blog. curious to hear your comments:

"Some will posit that "you" may not exist in a parralel universe. My thought is "you" exist in all universes, in all possible combinations of "yourself". The reason? Because each copy of "you" has followed a different path to an end result.. some of "you" will make wrong decisions, and some of "you" will make good decisions. The end result being that statistically in a universe of infinite choice, one of "you" will make every possible "right" decision and end up at the absolute best end result. In this way, free will is validated and at least one of "you" will go to Heaven, quantumly speaking. In this sense, we are all acting as bits in a universal quantum computer working toward the best possible result of the universal equation.

Oddly enough, to reach the correct solution to a problem, you must make a number of incorrect choices until the solution is reached.
If you've ever searched for a pair of car keys, you can see where I'm going with this ;)"

I suppose this is what I get for thinking about collapsing wave functions and wave interference patterns at 2:22am!

Noticed I spelled "parallel" wrong in the thread title.

lol, you're spelling of parallel insults my eyes :P

You know, I'm not sure if I can believe in parallel universes and such, hey i'm open to the idea but i mostly dislike it when science trieds to prove such things, it's generally better for me myself to work out how I feel about it.
but it's a nice concept and there are nice things about it ^^ just a shame I drew the short straw and made lots of incorrect decisions lol..
ohwell, that's in the past, for now I try to not mess up everything (though that doesn't go well, especially with this girl recently O.O)

Celestine Prophecy is worth reading if you haven't already. I think you would like it.

Interesting theory. But if you have taken the choice A, how can you go back in time and take choice B? Without foreseeing the future, how will you be able to know that the best of you exist?

It doesn't matter what choice you make (in one sense) because statistically in a universe of infinite choices, one of you "has" to make the correct sequence of choices.

Interesting theory. But if you have taken the choice A, how can you go back in time and take choice B? Without foreseeing the future, how will you be able to know that the best of you exist?

 Very interesting that I just found this post, as I am currently watching "What the Bleep Do We Know?". A friend of mine had me borrow it a couple of weeks ago, and I am just finally getting around to seeing it! Interesting film so far...

"What the Bleep Do We Know?" is available in parts on YouTube if you check.. keep in mind that this film (as most ideas of this sort) has faced some scientific criticism.

Empirically speaking, I happen to believe much of what the film suggests. I would find it harder to disbelieve than believe.
