Page with news from RSS feed and ads instead parking

Hi,

I'm testing a method of generating revenue, since parking doesn't make much.
So, basically I'm redirecting my domain names to a page showing contents from RSS feeds. Then I put up an adsense in that page, what do you think of it.

One example, can be seen here http://nsir.net or http://8pw.net

does any one know if it's against adsense TOS ?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

It seems you're not the only one with this idea
but to be honest, I think your CTR will be low rather this way.
Maybe a 350x250 adblock would perform better. And many people would still click on the rss links. perhaps its better to link with a small .. read more.. tag.

And even better would be if you could add a block of unique content on each domain before the rss content. As for adsense TOS, yes they could consider it MFA site which is against the TOS. But many of us are using imodo, whypark and similar sites without problems.

This is not a bad idea but make sure that the RSS feeds coming in are of quality. I have seen people do this and the RSS feeds die or they are not good feeds at all and you see no CTR. Also another thing to think about relates to what Dutchleader was saying about the ad block, experiment with different ad blocks and other places to put the blocks. Another thing look in to Affilate programs related to the subject you are putting on these "parking pages". Once you find a formula that works i think you could make some good money off of this.

Edit: Maybe you could network the sites together. Bad Idea or not?

"does any one know if it's against adsense TOS "

Yes it is - read it for yourself. With no other content a purely scrapped site IS against their TOS and can result in your page being dropped and/or your adsense account being closed down.

It's been nearly 24 hours since you posted this and I surmise another large chunk of hours since you created the pages, yet they STILL show public service ads - google's way of saying there is nothing worth showing ads for on those pages - aka - low quality.

Others do this and never have a problem. Read the boards though, and see others have not been so lucky in this regard.

ouch, that's bad news...
but I know a website like http://slashdigg.com (content based from RSS feed of slashdot and digg) that put up adsense, and they are fine...

Not sure what you mean by fine...do you mean no problems with Google?
If so..all some one has to do is report the site to Google!

Or do you mean "they are making money"?... if so I don't see how, the google ads (the ones that I seen) are at the bottom.

Jeez sounds like a "MiniSite" or "adsenseSite"
Examples http://minisite.info http://AdsenseSite.info
I and others here at namepros have been Promoting the concept for years
Big Improvement you could do ,add one Real Article at top of page with some good keywords so Adsense ADS Display relevant ads

I think there's a big difference between building a minisite or adsense site with a niche - say, poker or gardening, or travel. But the site he put up were just a collection of unrelated RSS feeds. Even if Adsense didn't shut it down, I can't see where it would get many clicks for such a conglomeration of content.

My similar experiment: http://www.huntingconcepts.net . In 2 months i've got 675 pages indexed in google, and am getting 10-15 unique visitors per day, although no revenue to speak of. I wouldn't call it a success yet, but it's 100% maintenance free so I can wait forever. I went a little overboard while looking for hunting related feeds, so it gets ~250 new stories per day. Not sure if that's good or bad... I also archive every story permanently on the site.

Also as has been mentioned, I think you need to pick a topic.

Rob how do you think this RSS model could be utilized effectively?

you can park domains at dugoohoo. You can add RSS feeds, articles and pics, meta tags. dugoohoo is using parking feed not adsense.
