Hello,

Yes newbie here so this is probably old hat to some.

I have a domain name that I have had for several years, just checking something else and I noticed that on a Yahoo search it is number 2 on the page, but on google it is not in the first 100.

As I am looking to generate income from my domain names now ( have not thought about it before ) how do I make use of this.

Do I develop the site, if so how?

Do I park the page, want to use Parked but don't have enough domains?

Do I look to sell it because it is so high on Yahoo and what is that place worth, this page has no real content and was surprised to see it so high. It is on page 1 place number 2 of 212,000,000 according to the Yahoo stats.

Use quality relevant content. Throw in some SEO and use a good CMS and you should do well.

Search rankings can fluctuate on different search engines because every search engine has different algorithm to rank sites. The best option for you would be to develop a website & throw some ads, may be you'll be able to convert some traffic coming from higher yahoo ranking.

I agree with this.

Great question as I am also seeking the answers to. Thanks for the last answer Sufi. To get the ball going on a test case, can someone suggest more specifics on what Sufi had suggested. What I mean is, can someone suggest what they mean by developing the site when I really don't have programming knowledge? What/where is a good place to park a name that will allow me to develop it and place some ads? Has anyone had any luck with CJ.com?

I guess I'm simply asking for specifics that can be put to the test in the immediate term to see what does/doesn't work.

Developing a site actually maens building a website, no programming skills needed, just an webpage/site editor and somewhere to host it. Doing this means that you have a web presence and could gain income in some form from it.

also be sure not to super spam your website (i.e., in signatures). that is just a cheesy transparent solution that won't hold water in the long run.

also beware of so-called seos! they seem to be everywhere these days.
