Lately I have become interested in the .de domain name market. I am not a German citizen nor do I have any family there.

Say I wanted to buy .de domain from someone who owned it through Moniker. Would I be able to buy it and later resell it?

You may Move (push) your .DE domain name to any other Customer Account.

The Customer you are moving your .DE domain name to, should have a .DE Contact with either the Registrant or the Administrative Contact with the country as Germany.

you can fake your whois info.

According to wiki you need an admin contact in country..

Registration restrictions: Must have administrative contact resident in Germany

You still need a contact local in Germany to own those domains. You need to verify your locality for these type of domain names.

The domain holder does not have to be resident in Germany, in that case you need a local admin contact and some registrars can provide one, even for free.

Not sure why you would post something like that.

Fake whois means there is a very chance the registered user will
lose the domain. Besides which - why lie??
As sdsinc mentioned, some registrars will do it - Godaddy used to, not sure if they still do.

OP, don't fake it, not worth it if it's a name you want to keep ;)

yes,you are right.but for someone else who needs owning a foreign domain In the case of policy limited. like as

.cn domains which were registered after the middle of December 2009 can only be held by companies which have offices in mainland China.

take the risk of losing a domain by fake a whois.

I've been heard many times.

Thanks for the info guys! Does anyone happen to know if Moniker offers a local admin contact?

So this is the second active thread telling us to use a
proxy service but no one can suggest one? One of you
actually cut and pasted the same answer to my question
in another thread with the same answer you gave here.

Some of us have never used such a service. So some help
finding one is what we are asking. We know they exist!
