So if the domain gets 0 overture but the words do get overture, unless the domain name gets hits, it's worthless?

No Not necessarily ~ Have you promoted it in any form ? Is it listed with any engines yet ? - Just because a "Term" has Ovt doesn't mean the Searchers will go to your domain of the same name - You have to give it some time. (Unless the name in question had existing backlinks etc ... - You can usually tell pretty quick if it is/was junk) Good Luck ~
