Overture and Wordtracker

I am familiar with both overture and wordtracker but have been curious for a while on what the figures mean! Like what search engines are they from? Are they accurate? How are they calculated?

Asking this because i just started OnlineFreeKidsGames.com purely because it had high overture. I'm getting around 15 uniques a day from google organic search looking for "onlinefreekidsgames.com" and a lot more from "onlinefreekidsgames". Overture reports none of these search terms but they are being searched 100's of times a month and thats only the traffic i get from them.

OVT shows you Yahoo monthly Data from Jan 2007. Wordtracker uses data from Google, Yahoo, Live, Ask, Lycos, Altavista and Alltheweb and indicates daily searches.

Then why is it most the searches i get traffic from does not show on either of these. Are they entirely accurate?

How do we know? I would recommend to compare results of Google keyword tool, WT, KD and then consider which results could make sense.

Perhaps your domain name isn't optimized to get the traffic (I'm assuming you are not talking about type it in traffic). Do you rank #1 for every term?

I wouldn't rely solely on these tools as being 100% accurate, but instead a possible indicator.

no its barely ranked at all! I do compete for them keywords but was just wondering the reason why it says the term has no searches when i get hundreds of people coming to my site a month. Not questioning the accuracy just trying to find out a bit more about the tools. Does anyone know how they get there data? Is it directly from the companies or is it with toolbars like alexa etc.
