Inspired by the ".mobi monetizing" thread, http://www.namepros.com/544532-mobi-monetizing-2.html, can Jeff (and his org buddies) please post all of their verified and detailed revenues / earnings for developed "dot Orgs"?!?

How do domains for "nonprofits/noncommercials" actually make money, apart from selling them to other domainers / organizations?

Thankies!

Happy holidays! :santa:

There is nothing limiting .ORG to non-profit entities. Many .ORG are for profit companies, but they only work with certain types of words.

I'm not Jeff or one of his .org buddies, but ...

As bmugford said, there's no rule that says you can't build a commercial or semi-commercial site on a .org.

I'm not going to show you all of my account details, but if you can live with some blanked-out data, here are the stats from one affiliate account for one day this month. The sales on the first and last lines are from one of my developed .org's.

(the sale in the 3rd line was from a site on a developed .biz.)

^ Hardly an inspiring thread, other than Rob's verified stats for "shania" ... and a few constructive comments that were on the actual topic itself, IMHO.

Great question ... I've sold my fair share or :$: short .ORG's over the years, but I have not developed any websites exclsusive to the extension or otherwise developed and effectively monetized them (other than forwarding some strategic, localized domains for their traffic), IMHO.
I could imagine a "co-op" monetization strategy, perhaps, where - for instance - if you owned a localized, very defined .ORG that it might be possible to co-develop or possibly even lease the domain to an desiring entity/municipality while also generating local, targeted sponsorships / promotions / ad revenues, etc.
Just my two sense, and nice to see other - and more constructive and ON TOPIC - :$: monetization discussions! :music: :talk:

Happy New Year! :santa:
