Opinions please

I would like to know if the course im on with this site is good or not. Keep in mind, Im not done completely, I still have to animate the buttons and do some other stuff, but you get the general idea of how it looks. I wanted to go with a simple professional looking site that people will say "hey, he knows whats hes doing, ill buy a website from him". Ive gotten some good complements on my last design, but i felt it was too dark and not very professional looking, but i scrapped it.

ive also done http://www.joe-carpenter.com didnt get very much for doing the site (family friend) but I did it when i was 16, and it seemed to impress alot of people.

I guess sitting in your room all summer long fooling around (not like that) has its benefits.

the flash anim took wayyyyyyy to longto load for whats in it

and im pretty sure microsoft would have something to say about you using there bliss wallpaper

i must say i dont like it, it looks really big and really bulky

You probably just needed to give it a little more time and I'm sure you would have received a few more comments. But it looks like you've taken the site down now so good luck redesigning it and such!

actually I didn't take it down, for some reason my domain stopped pointing to it. goto http://zoroko.mysrever.org to see it. when you said I need to put more time into it. I know its a very very simple design, and that was the idea. From talking to people, prespective clients that is, simple is good. Most clients don't know anything about webdesign, they want something simple to navigate that gets the point across, not a bunch of flash graphics. Yes, i know that the flash file I made takes a long time to load, thats one thing I ment to go back and fix. From a design stand point I wanted something very simple and easy to use.

I guess I'll go contact my domain provided and ask the what the hell happened. I host my site my self off my cable connection, thats why I use myserver.org

whenevr you get it fixed, i wunt to see it. if that first lnk is all, then hmm im wondering about the background for the letters... i think i remeber setting that picture as my desktop! lol but it is definatly simple... and BTW it took 20 secondes on a T1 connection

yes it is very very verrrrrrrryyyy simple, which is what i wanted.

and yes, that is the bliss wallpaper that comes with windows xp, microsft won't mind, will they? ok maybe they would. Is it really that big of a deal to use it? like big giant microsoft will loose any money for me using that wallpaper, but i know its the point of the thing, and its copyrighted. its just annoying, thats all

they would be preapred to lose the money. the money they spend on a court case (tbh it wouldnt be a very long one, they prolly collect lawers as a hobbie) they would make back by seeling a cuple of coppies of there software

I'm pretty sure that when Deadserious said that you needed to give it a little more time, he wasn't talking about the design but rather he was talking about people posting reviews for your site, not the design.


I'm sure that you probably have already taken this into consideration, and it's already been mentioned, but the flash on the page does take way too long to load, I've been sitting here for 7 mins so far waiting for the page to load, and it still hasn't loaded for me so I closed it out. I am using dial up and the load time for the page will definately turn prospective customers away that use dial up. Sorry for sounding like broken record.

I agree with you on that one, I knew the loading time was way to long, and I just havnt gotten around to optimizing it. I'll probly rezise evertying and take out some images. I never said i was done.
