I bought a few domains some weeks back.
Just realized that I misspelt 2 of them.
Do registrars normally allow the name to be changed if the correctly spelt domain is still available?
I am not sure about domain tasting but is it true that i can return the domain within 1 month

No, on some you have 5 days - see Godaddy, but it's too late now.

while reading about domain tasting on one of the forums but I guess I was mistaken.It seems it is only 5 days

Guess this reg fee is gone but learnt a valuable lesson - always double check the name before submitting

Yep, being paranoid about your spelling really helps here

Tasting is only 5 days. If the correct spelling of the domain is available, grab it and redirect the other one to it.

yes they allow it within 5 days or contact the registrar just to be sure.
some will refund via domain credits.
