What are your thoughts on .online domains?
It's very generic and not as ugly as .xyz for example, so that's a plus - but perhaps a little too long to have any success...
Plus most good names are either unavailable or premium...

I tried transferring a few .online's to Hostgator ($9.95 each), but no luck yet. Initially I was able to get the transfers in my cart, but the order never processed. I gave them a call, and they said they'd do the transfer manually, but 6 hours later I have yet to be charged or otherwise see any signs of an order being placed.

Has anyone had any success with transferring .online's to Hostgator?

Of course with this company I was pretty skeptical to begin with...

Had inquiry on this 1 yesterday and smaller offer thanks take but wait and see what happens as I'm in no hurry to give domains away especially 2l even with hyphen as a Geo province and works well with online .

From NameStat.org: .online currently sitting at #3 on the fastest growing gtld chart.

Don't forget that Network Solutions charges $25. I'm by no means a fan of them, but at least they are well-known in the tech world (compared to some similarly-priced registrars like Porkbun and NameSilo). I'm still holding out a little longer on renewing my 8/2015 regs, hoping for a better transfer deal somewhere...

Yup, it's $5 savings to avoid for me. I only use netsol like when i really really really have to.

Found some cool .online's in use that I hadn't seen before, and figured I'd share:

RDP.online
LCI.online
Echo.online
Corbett.online
Steel.online
Thess.online
Aster.online

Side note: I gave up with transferring to Hostgator. I couldn't place the order through the site, and the only other option was for them to place the order manually, "which would mean that you'd need to contact us to manage the domain." (direct quote) The ****?! Sounds like a scam to me!!

https://flippa.com/auctions/6643139/bids

An auction on Flippa for an NNNN.online with 40 bids up to $195, but upon further investigating (clicking on the bids list) all of the bids are from 1 bidder

Why not reinforce our group by joining it, so that we can negotiate for an even better renewal / transfer price, see .online nGTLD

I guess I just have no idea how many of my .online's I'll be renewing/transferring, and I'm not prepared to jump on anything very quickly. It'll all come down to the pricing I can find over the next 6 months.

I got the same problem with HostGator. Their supporters are sucks, seems to be they don't know anything about domain name, they can't even answer some simple questions.

I just tried with 1and1.com and the price for transfer is only $15.17. This is the best choice for transfer .online for now. Still waiting if we can find any other better registrar for transfer.

I tried and failed as well with Hostgator, I wanted to see why people are having issues first hand.
I rather let my domains drop than use 1&1.
Hopefully someone will drop prices and help us out but as for now it seems there will be mass drops in Nov.

Name.com renewal price is down to $19.99 for .online.
Transfer price still way too high, at $34.99...

Whois.com renewal price is down to $19.88 for .online.
Transfer price still way too high, at $38.88...

Need to see $20 transfer deals!

namecheap - $19.88 renewal
Better than before as it used to be renewals above $25. But still has to come down below $10.

.online has now crossed the 350,000 domain mark

https://ntldstats.com/tld/online

Rank: #8 / out of 1131 Total Tracked New gTLDs on namestat.org (after less than one year!)

Ranked #10 on ntldstats.com (there seems to be some discrepancy in numbers between the sites, especially for .vip and .link??)

Let's use ntldstats...

.online (350,000) (launch date 8/2015)

Compare this to some others like

.click (250,000) (launch date 11/2014)
.space (178,000) (launch date 1/2015)
.website (178,000) (launch date 11/2014)
.tech (168,000) (launch date 8/2015) (same as .online)
.rocks (70,000) (launch date 8/2014)
.one (62,000) (launch date 5/2015)
.live (56,000) (launch date 10/2015) (two months after .online)
.today (53,000) (launch date 2/2014)

Funny how almost all of those are shorter than .online..... yet .online is still crushin' 'em!

So much for it being too long...!
