Are one word dictionary .net's worth more than a reg fee?

I don't own any, just curious...

Thanks :)

It depends highly on the word. A premium word is worth much more than reg fee. What some people try to pass off as dictionary words these days (eg. dispositioning.net, irregardlessly.net) are not worth anything. Approach it as a potential end-user would. Really, if it's not a marketable word, it's probably not worth registering.

don't get too caught up in a domain simply because it is a "dictionary" word... Like Phronesis said, lots of words are in the dictinary, but they make bad domain names...

That being said, if the word has high OVT and a lot of web searches it might be a good choice for development...

For example, I recenlty regged Anime.la - not the best extension, but the word Anime has 400,000+ OVT so if I can get it developed it could be very valuable some day... I also have lowers.ca, pretty much useless....

hope that helps...

I registered 3 dictionary .nets a few weeks ago. Just sold one on for $20, the others may or may not be worth more than reg fee.

Great! thanks very much for your info. :) I think I'll hold off on the ones I found then, they don't seem very Marketable.

Check things like:
- Does it have ANY OVT?
- Are other extensions taken (esp. .org, .info)?
- Does it give many Google results?
- Can you think of a use for it?

I recently sold

staves.net
monsignor.net
glycerol.net

nouns are definitely better than verbs for 1-word domains ;)
