A General Appraisal

Hello,

I would like to ask a few questions about general domain names, and how much they are worth. For example, If I was to by chance grab a one word domain name such as "chicken.com", one that is three letters e.g. "hio.com" and one that is 2 words like "reallygood.com";

How much would you think that they would be worth if those names, or names of the same kind (3 letter, 1 dictionary word, 2 dictionary words) were to be offered to public bidding?

In other words, If you could please tell me what the following template names would be worth...

(dictionary word).com
(letter)(letter)(letter).com
(dictionary word)(dictionary word).com

As I say, I DO NOT own the domain names above, I would just like an overall domain name appraisal.

Thankyou in Advance

- Luke :hehe:

(P.S. I posted it in here, and Not in the appraisals section because I got told to by another member)

Luke,
This is the right forum for this discussion.

Depending on the dictionary word, it could be worth very little ($1 - $10) or a lot ($10,000 and up). If it's a word with no obvoius meaning or application, you can find those .coms selling for $10 or just a bit higher.

The 3-letter .coms are going to get at least $1,000 in today's market. And that's for the ones that don't make any sense, like KTZ.com; ones like cat.com are going to sell for over $100,000 most likely.

The two worders can be valuable, depending on the combination of terms and the frequency with which the name is used. You can still find some pretty decent two-word .coms that are unregistered, just check the Expired Domains Forum.

Hope this helps!

Ive just seen a few 3 letter's that Id like to have a try at getting if they sell for a good price..

What is the case for 3 letter dot ORG/INFO/BIZ/NET and US domains, do they sell as well as .coms?

Most names dont sell as good as the .coms. 3 letter .nets I've seen sell for as much as $500.

This is what I'm seeing out there... B-)

For a 3-letter name such as ZDM, I get a value of about $1000 for .com
.net around $200/250, .org around $200, .biz $150, .info $150, and .us $100-150

I know I have NO chance in this world of getting it, But Im thinking of backordering tih.net (Probably not the brightest Idea, if its good, to advertise this fact on a popular domain site, haha) But what do you think, would I get much? Do you think I should Just go for it?

TIH Toxic Inhalation Hazard
TIH Transport Information Highway
TIH Trip in Hole (oil/gas drilling/geology)

I don't see too much value. Probably could be sold for $100-$200.
