The majority of people are just echoing what they hear on mainstream media. The same people who bought crypto while it was getting coverage on CNN, causing the price to soar, then they are surprised when that hype dies down and the price drops out

This is a good starting point "Why are so many NP members negative about Modern Money and HUGE opportunities?"

Are some of the "hard-core close-minded domain squatters" ( :) ) willing to learn a thing or two before they go around shouting "Crypto Is Dead!!"?

well.. I do think btc will eventually be dead. but that's just my opinion. though I still don't know when. could take years.

but I do not believe crypto concept will die. it will live in another form.

hopefully in 10-30 years of now.. we will have one cryptocurrency... used worldwide and stable.. either replacing fiat or besides fiat.. but not the joke we call cryptos today.. which can be worth $1000 today.. and $5 when you wake up tomorrow... and full of scammers.

so no.. crypto as a concept is not dead... and imo it will never die. what will imo die is at least 99% of all cryptos we know today...

but I guess if you have some extra cash you don't care to lose, and like some risk, and have the knowledge for it, then yes its possible to make profit with cryptos today. as it has been for past while. but that could be getting harder now too.

imo

A Great question, thanks atinc:
Telegram ICO happened?
The private Telegram ICO went to ~$1.7 Billion, so they actually cancelled the public one. There is/should be/will be (???) a token available on public exchanges as some of the private holders start to sell and trade.

Bitcoin = Air

Anyone wanna buy some air?

I don't know a thing about crypto/coins/tokens etc. What I do know is that a year ago when these things were sky rocketing, all the threads here were about how amazing it is and how you're an idiot if you don't get on board. Then the floor fell away and the silence was deafening. All the preachers went quiet.
And that's the problem with it as it stands, there's no accountability. I didn't hear anyone say they had been wrong or that maybe everything had been over hyped, only "just wait" or "this time next year".
And it's the same for these markets and currencies in general. No accountability. It can't be trusted untill it's properly regulated and then it defeats the object of them in the first place.
If they are self regulated by the people they have a chance and can be trusted. If they are regulated by the existing corrupt centralised establishment then no amount of regulation is trustworthy IMO.

These guys are making it possible

Did Tezos not make the list because the ICO was last year (although distribution occurred this year)?

Out of all the hyped coins I love Tezos. Been under production since 2014 and has decentralized governance, something bitcoin lacks for good reason but makes bitcoin hard to utilize as an exchange of value.

Not certain about the listing, but you gave me good reason to learn a bit more about Tezos, thanks.

NYJimbo, You can keep motivating honest people to prove you are wrong, thank you.

Not surprised about the "uneducated negativity", but are some of them interested in learning the amazing value of being able to pay people with transaction fees of under a penny with one of several established altcoins, and/or many other related topics?

As a general statement:
Are domain scalpers ( :) ) actually (on average) a bunch of lazy people looking for an easy path, who are blind to a really easy path?

FYI: Crypto as money still has value, IMHO.

Oh, more bitcoin talkO_o......Its time to move the conversation to where the real action will be in 2019, Security Tokens.:xf.grin:

A security token is a physical device used to gain access to an electronically restricted resource. The token is used in addition to or in place of a password. It acts like an electronic key to access something. Wikipedia

Your right.

However, when it’s done right there will be nowhere for these arseholes to hide. Trolls who hide behind anonymous usernames will be a thing of the past.

I don't know a thing about crypto/coins/tokens etc...

Reality Check Part 1: Yes you do :)

...there's no accountability. I didn't hear anyone say they had been wrong...

Reality Check Part 2: I was WRONG, but not in the exact context you mentioned.

History repeats are you ready this time?

The above question should mean a lot in this community, whether the subject is "Modern Domain Parking" and/or Crypto/BTC related. As a general statement I find it shocking how this "once very friendly community" is ice cold to new, original ideas. However, there are some wonderful exceptions.

... It can't be trusted until it's properly regulated and then it defeats the object of them in the first place.

You are wise, and possibly need help on one issue... Stay tuned :)

It reminds me of the hypes in the domain industry :)
