You need to consider a few things:

1) a very tiny percentage of the supplement market is online -- most people buy their supplements at stores near where they live.

2) there are already some very well established players in the online supplement space such as bodybuilding.com and lef.org -- it is unlikely you would get a very large slice of the market versus these companies which have been online for over a decade.

3) Omega 3 is a functional food just like a trillion other products out there. I would cash out before Omega 3 becomes the next Lycopene and the latest nutritional fad takes over.

4) It's by no means cheap to setup a professional online business and anyone buying your domain name is going to factor that cost into what they're prepared to pay for your domain.

iam very confident and i know a lot about the health business the domain is worth more than 40 k and again im glad i made the decision i did

the supplement market is worth billions and billions of dollars a year and omega 3 fish oil is the most popular supplement on the market today. It was put on the food pyramid as an essential part of your diet. The stuff is really really good for the human body.

Exactly! I probably order from BB.com at the least once a month. Anyone who buys from places like GNC after seeing what bb.com charges, would have to be crazy. The markup of retail at physical locations, as apposed to online is outrageous.

i really did get an offer for 40k and i got a higher offer from the same person this morning....i want more and i will get it and the reason i was sounding like an ass is couse that's how i wanted to sound when people make ridiculous appraisal amounts.

IF i made a ridiculous appraisal amount to some 1 would WANT them to correct me if they had first hand knowledge that i was wrong. Which is in fact what i did. I dont mean to offend anyone im sure the majority of people on here are good guys not all but the majority. With this said the reason this domain is worth alot is couse its omega 3 fish oil...its not omega 3 its not fishoil....its omega 3 fish oil...the product is called omega 3 fish oil

see what you guys are doing is looking at it in a computer tech way iam quite aware of the searches the statistics etc etc....BUT you cant go on that alone....when a pharmacy( which is who i think wants to buy it now)...they want a domain that is informative and brandable....and thats what omega3fishoil.com is

I went on this forum couse i was not sure if i should have sold it for 40k and iam glad i didnt i feel its worth A LOT more

It's a nice domain for sure, and not a day goes by that I don't take my fish oil supplements. You can ask what you want for it, just don't get pissed at people that don't agree. Appraisal threads are asking people's opinion after all.

Is unfortunate that people call hello a liar,he may be right, some people know things we dont even know, someone payed 25000 for calories.ca and sometimes prices are ridiculous,5.1 million for toys.com gotta sell alot of toys to make that back.I see MyHomePage.com went recently for 50,000 at afternic,I am sure noone here including myself would have appraised that name for 50grand.Noone should say anything insulting here, people all have different opinions.Hello will hopefully prove us all wrong,we will be waiting.
Anwalt.com went for 67,000 why cant Omega3fishoil
For 40 grand though I would have sold it and put the money on my mortgage, good luck to you!

Solid keywords, but I would have ran at 40k, especially in this type of economy, but everyone has their own opinions.

hello123456, I am just curious if this sale involves more than just the domain name - is there a business with inventory that you are selling as well? If so, I can see your argument.

Just curious!

Those sales do happen, but those are outliers. If you always thought like that, any domain, even the worst, could be potentially valued at xx,xxx. You also don't consider the really good domains going for pennies, or some of them even being dropped.

u gotta do ur reasearch before hand in the market theres tons more variables than most new domain traders look at

take it from someone who has been pushing supplements and such for years now they are low income only reason i keep them going is because they make a profit but its very minimal. How long have you been selling supplements or pushing supplement affiliate programs on the net? Many people will lie about what they make and such through affiliate programs to either keep you focused on a dieing program or what ever im not saying it cant be profitable but the conversion is one of the the worst ive seen. and like someone said before on here most people will buy from an actual retail store then buy on the net they will look up information but then take the info and go to the store.

if this 40k+ offer is true then great im glad for you because I always like to see others thrive but supplements special Omega-3 and Acai and theres a few are over saturated and are going down the drain right now.

I find it hard to believe that you could turn down an "offer" like that when there are no significant sales relating to the product accept this one.

Domain: triomega3.com
Registration date: 2005-08-16
Most Recent Sales Price: $3,000
Date: 2008-09-29
Sold at: namejet.com

When you say "factually", can you supply some of these facts realting to Omega 3, besides "my family are in the pharmacy industry"

I personally think anyone who had a name like this would jump at 2K, nevermind 40k, just my opinion.

I just hope you think about turning down the "offer" for a name that is worth mid-high xx, maybe low xxx if you're lucky.

Good luck with the name(s) though

Sorry to interrupt , IMO.

This is a name with a ridiculous offer with 40k. think about the current economic situation, 40k is worthy to buy a NN.com. What do you expect your name is better than NN.com (e.g 80.com 52.com)
