Can you verify that the user limit is actually 100? According to several sources (e.g., Google), the no-longer-offered free edition offers a maximum of 10 users. Additionally, business accounts have some extra features that free accounts don't have, but $200 would still be a good deal for 10 free accounts.
Right now, I'm paying $50/year each for 2 business accounts. It adds up fast! There's no way I could afford 10 users, and I could certainly make good use of them.
Its actually not impossible to have the free edition with more than a 10 user limit. It is however very rare. As a matter of fact I myself have a google apps free account and I have the ability to add 200 mailboxes and I can give you a screenshot of my subscription as proof if you'd like.
Heres how this was possible. For those who signed up for google apps free edition when the product was in beta, the accounts came with a 10 user limit. But since the product was in beta, if you wanted to request more licenses, you could send a request to google with a reason why you felt you needed more users. If they agreed with your explanation, they would increase your limits. This practice was stopped after the beta period and whoever got the increases got to keep them.
So it is right that these were accounts with a 10 user limit, but under rare circumstances, higher limit accounts do exist. Perhaps for the right price, I might consider selling you mine as well.![]()
I just want to add that accounts with 10, 25, 50, 100, and 200 users are NOT that rare :D I have a dozen of them. I also have some with 500, 1000, and 2000 users. Its actually not impossible to have the free edition with more than a 10 user limit. It is however very rare. Oh, and there were times when requests for more users were approved automatically..![]()
