OK canada, if this is how it will be. Stop taking the billions of dollars we give you out of charity every year to keep your psuedo nation alive. I've spent the [ast ten summer vacations in Canada, but not more. I'll save that 5 or 6K spent and go to Vegas and somewhere that appreciattes us.

(hehe, sorry.. but CNN.com wont post my comments lol)

hey

ur making ur decision on one persons remark...

yes, perhaps. But one person the represents how many people as a govt. official? We do nothing but charity for canada and ask very little if anything in return. What kind of person is this that ignores this and instead decides her opinion should be used as the voice of canada?

No, until she is throttled, I wont spend a dime with them or in their country. Thats just wrong.

Canada's a huge place. Don't Canadian MP's represent specific geographical areas? Perhaps Lee can avoid spending in that MP's city, as "punishment".

Try to keep your ban areas small, Lee. :p Ten years from now, if enough people piss you off, you might end up confined just to your hometown.

Well, I agree with her in a sense, I do think bush is an idiot, but as of the rest, I don't like her statements.

No offense to any republicans, just that it seems this war is senseless pass the 1? year mark

Jane, I think a Friendly Fire incident (which is an accidental happening, like a car accident) is unfair to say "The Americans did this to us!".

However, I realise the pain it must have caused you in losing half your Marine Corps in that incident :P

"lord", how is it senseless to end a dictatorship?

How is it brutal to end someone funding suicide bombers in Israel?

How is it brutal to ensure a truly secure govt is in place before we leave?

Wouldnt it be barbaric to just leave and let the animals that want only distruction there have their way?

As long as the rest of the world do not think that Bush's behavior is representative of that of every american, I could never imagine that this woman's remarks are representative of Canadians' feelings towards Bush. As a brief aside, I did not appreciate your remark that Canada is a "psuedo nation" (sic).

well maximus, then you deffinately do not want to know how i feel about it now lol.

we think of canada as the 51st state, the little sister that couldnt. we feed her, protect her... buy her toys..whatever. hence the term "pseudo Nation".

And over 50% of us feel Bush's behaviour is appropriatte. Stomp Al Quada. Stomp Saddam. Maybe Iran soon, Maybe Korea.. who knows. However, if you feel that leaving a terrorist to rule afghanistan is ok.

If you feel that not responding to something like 9/11 is ok

if you feel that allowing saddam to do the numerous things he was doing is ok

fine, thats your opinion. We promise not to call you cowards or apathetic and to afraid to risk yourself to help others.

really, its ok to be afraid.

We choose to stand.

Honestly for all the crap that the US gets from other countries I do not know a single person (Including visiting Canadians) that have told me they would rather live in a country outside of the US if they had a choice between the two (Some exceptions obviously, but from the dozen our so canadians on work visa's that I know, they love the US).

LeeRyder, I think it would be definitely better that you wouldn't make those comments. Believe me. :|

really, its ok to be afraid.

We choose to stand.

Ya dark, i mean we do have the most people wanting to come here. and I agree... it is not the canadian peoples fault their govt is like this (or certain aspects of it), however it does not take away from the fact that they vote these people in.

Imagine if one of our govt officials had called canada a bunch of cowards or something equally revolting.. the hell to be paid.

just frustrating is all.

well other than the fact that the US government is ignorant and corrupt and many Americans are too ignorant to know the first thing about Canada, America is a pretty cool place.

What did the US ever do to us?

Softwood lumber tariffs, the ban on Canadian beef, etc...

We make our own decisions, we are not America's pawn and our choice to make a smart decision about the war proved that.

By the way, would you rather have a small military and free healthcare, or a military that abuses prisioners and no healthcare to speak of?

oh and BTW, why do you think terrorists hit America and not Canada? Of course, I do not condone the terrorist attacks (I spent one hour just staring at the WTC site when I was in NYC last spring and it choked me up) but the reason they chose is America is because it has the type of attitude you displayed above.

ok gt, Ill take issue with you.

First, we did not condem canada for being afraid of going to war to fight, regardless of reason or intent. We did not issue pubic govt statements damning you, your people nor did we call you names. We're we disappointed? hardly. we respect canadas soverienty and will continue to support your nation so long as it is in existance.

As per the tarrifs, read as to WHY those tarrifs were in place. Was business decisions on the Canadian side of the border instigated that? I will post them if you choose not to read an aknowledge the fact that canada played a role in those outcomes. Dont like the big league? dont play. Remember, you are apart of our economy at will. America would survive without your dollars. do you feel the reverse could be true?

As per 9/11. How dare you insinuate 9/11 had anything to do with what you said. that act of terror was done by people that want you AND me dead for no other reason than we are not muslim living under sharia. We are the big target because we choose to stand and make policy, not have it dictated to us by people hell bent on bringing this planet back to the 13th century.

but do we condem canada? no
do we issue statements saying "Canadians are just cowards that are easy targets living off of the welfare of the United States"? no.

why? because, regardless of the validity of those comments, they are innapropriatte since we are not canadians.
