They sure make it tough to turn off the auto-renew. I spent a good half an hour trying to figure it out. Other registrars just have the simple slider function for off or on. But with Godaddy you have to head into the settings, and then locate the setting to actually confirm that you will cancel your domain on the expire date! Not only that, but you then have to give a reason why you want to do that. The final addition to their process is that you now have an easy to use, easy to access slider, that will turn auto-renew on; how kind

GoDaddy is your grandma's registrar, they obviously had megatons of angry feedback from their userbase who turned that off accidentally and then lost their domain, hence it was made so complicated.
