I have, of course, investigated this on my own. However, I'm certain that I have missed a few things this time around, so this is why I am here asking for your expert opinions. I've asked this question before a while back, but I'd like to know what you think the best choice for a domain reseller setup is.

I'm looking for something with a relatively low startup cost. I'd like to keep the cost at about $100 or less. I would like to offer SSL, but at this point that is only a positive more than it is a necessity. This is not going to be something that I am too concerned with generating a huge profit, but I would like it to be able to be self sufficient so that I'm not taking a hit each time a domain is registered and possibly attract the attention of others who want a domain but might not want my domain or hosting services. I just want to offer domains at reasonable prices, don't have to be the industry best.

Your input on the best choice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks weblord!

That's the one that seemed to be the best fit. I have heard some negative reviews here and there in the past, but that was a while ago, looks like they are my frontrunner right now.

And you can spend 60% less for this reseller account if you buy via WWD resellers ;)

I think WWD (GoDaddy) fit your description rather well. Because GD are the largest registrar they will always have the largest number of haters. Imho, they have the best control panel for handling a large number of domains and it's being constantly updated with new features.

The downsides are:
1) 60 day hold every time you change the Registrant Contact Info,
2) Renewal Grace Period is only 12-18 days,
3) Their willingness to suspend domains/accounts upon receipt of phishing/spam complaints and invalid whois records,
4) Many ads for add-on services when checking out
5) Their generally onerous ToS.

The upsides are:
1) Great Control Panel
2) Competitive pricing
3) Free push to WWD network of resellers
4) Large list of add-on products to sell
5) Redemption Fee is only $80
6) Support to your customers is provided by WWD/GoDaddy

Do WWD Resellers fix the pricing for their under-Resellers or do the under-Resellers get WWD pricing?
