Hey guys. A little background.
its a 9 year old .com (Automotive related)
I've had it since new.

I've had it parked for the past month on Sedo.

the past 32 days, I've had:

3,673 unique visits
1,569 clicks
$176.77 in comission,

At first, I was offered $500 which i outright refused. Then he went to $700, then 900, $1800 and now a "final offer" of 2150.

Whats a reasonable amount to ask? is 24months comission out of range?
I hope this is the right thread as it didnt seem like an appraisal question to me.

24 mths is reasonable..
if its not tm related n keywords u can ask for more...
2150 is a bit low i think.. min 3k

Largely depends on what the domain is & who the offer is from. But from the traffic you are stating I would not think 24 months is out of line. Is there chance that this type of traffic is short lived, or do you see it trending down?

its just a very common term thats used when describing a mustang.
Thanks for the info.

PM me your domain details and I might be able to pay more.

It used to get 10,000+ unique/month about 5-6 years ago.. the domain has been dormant for that long too. So I'm still very surprised it gets traffic. it jumps on weekends. I'll make more on a weekend than i do on a weekday.
the url had magazine coverage in the early 2000s but i doubt people are going to it from the magazine

Unless its a TYPO then I would'nt sell it based just on traffic, if its getting that many visitors and clicks (without incoming links) then its probably a very good domain worth much more.

If its a common term & it's still getting that amount of traffic after being dormant, I wouldn't sell. That's a nice amount of revenue for a parked page, & if the traffic does drop off then the domain itself would still be worth a nice price. If you have it parked at Sedo & make that much I'm wondering if you could not do better with a different parking provider. Congrats sounds like you have a nice domain. Best of luck with it.

Without knowing the domain name I would probably keep it unless someone
gave me $4-5000, considering the traffic.

Its tough to gauge a domains value without knowing the domain. We cant check keyword searches and SERP. However, based on parking revenue of just a month (when its been sitting dormant) my guess is this name gets some nice type-ins. There is a reason someone is so willing to move from $500 - $2150... He knows its worth it.

The other issue here is your parking on Sedo. Notoriously poor performing in terms of RPC. You could probably do substantially better at Parked or Fabulous. Although I have no clue how it would perform, Imagine if the domain started making $400 per month instead?....

Thanks for the comments guys. I just received another $3,000 offer.
Still debating what to do. Its not really the money because in all honesty.. 3-4,000 isnt going to change mylife... at all. i've sort of become attached to the name over the 9 years lol

Well, if 3-4k isnt gonna change your life. Dont sweat it. Pick a number that will and ask for it. If they pass, no biggie. Keep sucking down parking revenue and wait while the domain appreciates for a few more years. Save it for a rainy day.

if you expect it to generate over $2000 per year parked (12 * 176.77 ), its worth a lot more than 3000.

let it sit on sedo for another month to see if the revenue is similar.

then consider making a small website for it. (you can pay someone to do that for you.)

From the looks of it i feel that someone is willing to get a bargain deal from you. If it is a generic name do not sell it before getting it appraised at NP. Also remember that an end user might pay much more than the appraisal value on NP.

I also sense that you are sitting on a gold mine of sorts ;)

What is all these revenue x months thing?
It only applies to non-generic domains.
You guys sell/buy so cheap ;)
Maybe that's why I rarely sell on domain forums, heh.
Plus, we all know parking revenues are crap atm :(

I value domain with potential at right hand (end-user).
You need to ask following questions when you sell.

How bad buyer wants it.
Who is the buyer?
How much can buyer afford it.
Would you be happy after?
Can you do without money atm?
If you sell, what are you going to do with that money?
Would you buy better domain with it or just spent it?
How many offer did you receive before?
Do you think there will be other buyers?
Are you willing to wait longer for better price?

Feel free to add more questions :D

But...
Can't tell you much without knowing domain name itself.

i would keep and develop it

I would develop on it as well or park it with Fabulous.com or Parked.com and you very well could be seeing 2-4 X's MORE in your parking rev.. Sedo is not always the best.

Make sure you set Keywords as well when you park etc. If you need any assistance, just let me know.

Hey guys. Thanks for the comments. I ended up signing up for parked.com last night b4 I went to bed. I woke up this morning and saw my unbelievably high CTR.
I have more clicks than unique views. does this make sense? I'm assuming people are clicking more than once?

Last night before I went to bed I had a 75% CTR
this morning is at 128% CTR.

looks like i'm averaging 0.19-0.20c/click which is better than my 10-11c/click avg on sedo.

These numbers can and will be adjusted a little bit later today after verification of the clicks. Parked.com takes out Bot clicks etc, which it shows now.... But having a 100% + CTR is not unheard of.. It's a good thing ;) I think you will be much more happy with your numbers at Parked, compared to Sedo.
