Offer XAO.net To Swap with Mumb.com?

Hi all...

I am having a dilemma here.

I own the domain Mumb.com but I like XAO.net(not mine). I was thinking of offering XAO.net to swap with my Mumb.com.

Anyone think that this is a good idea?

mmmm....did not really know Mumb.com is that low, but anyway I have made the offer and awaiting the owner's reply. Its still very subjective and hope the he/she likes mumb.com.

I do think XAO is worth more, however the potential for Mumb is better. I think on equal footing you may stand a chance. However, Im not sure how other people feel about domain swapping... I get offers quite frequently to do it, but the deals are never worth it for me. The only time I would accept a swap, is if I knew I would collect substancially more value than the current name.

I think the owner will decline your offer...thats just my guess.

I have done a number of swaps and its very exciting. Most domainers like me have loads of domains when we just started ....remember "registration binge" sessions?

So these are stuck and cannot be monetized so after looking at them for soooo long without any $$ coming in, I might as well swap them for something else.

Just like Mumb.com, it is not really making $$, about 100 type-ins/mth but no clicks so something new like XAO.net is at least.....something new ??

Most swaps are very subjective and I really dont know how to differentiate the prices..whether it is a trade-up or trade-down. That is why they are so intersting and it will just depend on the other party, whether they like your name or not.

I guess if you are really good at valuating domains, you can seriously trade-up your portfolio to a substantial amount, IMHO..
