I have received offers in the past for different domain names, but most of the time the sale never happens.
It appears this time I may actually have a serious offer in the x,xxx range.
Should I go thru escrow.com for this type of transaction? Or is there a cheaper alternative? What type payment should I ask for? Paypal, Check or Moneywire? The domain is listed at Sedo and Afternic and parked at Namedrive.
Thanks for any advice given.

The transaction is almost complete! Just waiting on the money to be deposited in my account by Escrow.com
The Buyer requested privacy, so I will respect his wishes. I can say it sold for $2000, Buyer paid the escrow fees and the name was a .com
:)

The buyer found my name on Namedrive and then they notified me, by email, that an offer had been made on my domain. The โ€˜reply toโ€™ address for this offer was that of the buyer. This let me deal directly with the buyer. We was free to work out our own solution for the transaction (escrow.com).
This is another reason why I love Namedrive!!!

Thanks Allan! You know part of me wanted to be able to release the details and do a little bragging. But then there is the other part of me deeper down. I had re-assured the buyer that I would not reveal the details of the transaction and I knew that this was the right thing to do. :)
Thank you for your understanding of human nature and thank you for the "kick ass" compliment lol :)

I recently sold a name at sedo and another name at namecheap. The name I sold at sedo was registered with namecheap as well and I pushed the name to sedo's account on 1st december. After numerous emails and after not getting any response from dover finally I send a pm here at NP to marta and shortly afterwards I've got email confirming the transfer. I still wait for the funds. All in all a typicall sedo sale takes around 10 days and is a little annoying.

On the other hand my sale at namecheap was unbelievably smooth. The buyer had posted a message on forum and I offered a name with a fixed price. He said ok and I have put the name on namecheap marketplace with agreed price.
This is so easy. Go to namecheap and click on the name. On the left it says put for sale and you click on this link and thats it. Then I have send the link to buyer and went to work. When I came back the name was gone from my account and the money was there. Of course namecheap keeps both the money and domain in their system for a while to ensure everthing is ok but this is no problem. The buyer has got his domain in minutes and I didn't have to wait or email people.

Namecheap sale was completed within hours and I'm still waiting for sedo to confirm that they didn't make the buyer run away.
