ok...I have "one" .com.au domain which I regged for a website I was going to develop and market over the next few years. I regged the domain for 2 years which cost AUS $69. Bizarre that the one domain I didnt want to sell gets an offer.

The domain is SaleFinder.com.au.

I just received an email from someone asking me if I wanted to sell the name.

Any idea what I should go in at?? The email came from a hotmail account so that doesnt help at all.

Not sure of the value of the aussie extension even though I live here

thanks

Not sure about the domain extension myself too much... Good generic name though... Honestly if I was you though I wouldn't let it go for less than $250-$500...

Just my thoughts...

Cheers!

Appreciate the advice

its a hard one to appraise though, wish I knew about the buyer...could be some big firm that would pay $5K-10K

Ask him to make you an offer. That has worked well for me

Yes as the other have said try to work the buyer side on this, get a feel for their $ range and what their planing to do with it. Its hard to do this though as typically both sides in a deal like this try not to be the first to mention a dollar amount. Make sure you got a real email and telephone # before you give out an amount too

Nice, now you got to think about if you want to bump him up, usally we domainers do that :hehe:

You can counter, you may get more or you may lose him. I've had both happen to me. If it's more than you expected you may just want to take it. Best wishes

Thanks johname & WGS_Thunder

I usually do bump them up, but its more about finding out the value of .com.au I guess.

I may try bumping him up a couple of hundred and see what happens. I can always go back begging with his original offer >:(

If he is an Australian end user then it is invaluable to him. In Australia .com.au takes precident over dot com. If you're in business down under and don't have the .com.au extension, it's tantamount to online purgatory.

just my two cents worth.

Appreciate the advice

I know, I live in Perth and I know .com.au is the main ext all over Oz

Its hard to know, especially when you dont want to scare him off

He could be a casual hobbyist, or a rep for a massive global firm

mmmm, will keep you updated on negotiations

thanks again
