Hi,
I just received an Google AdSense DMCA complaint from someone regarding
a site that I have purchased last oct. I have not made any changes to the site, everything on the site were from the previous owner.

In the google DMCA complaint email, it mentioned about faxing in an "Counter Notification".

I'm not going to contest it as it seems like 1 or more pages were copied out from the original site. Silly me as I did not check it before I buy it.

What should I do ??? I have already removed the site. Counter notification means you want to contest/challenge the complaint, right ??? But I'm not going to contest/challenge it. What should I do ??

Please help me out ???

Thanks,
Anthony

Quickly erase any damaging finance-earning evidence to you on the site, changing all coding there to something innocent and boring, with no links on it that could be seen as being money-making to you.

And although in a previous post I defended someone here regarding their non-implicating email response AFTER they'd already sent it, I agree with most others here in telling you before you do it - DON'T.

This gives them nothing new they could possibly use against you. Simply lay low with your nondescript site content, and wait them out. That way it's neither a parked site earning you money, nor is it a content-containing site earning you money. Therefore they can then do nothing.

(Unless of course you regged a currrent TM product or company name - then no matter what, you're screwed.)

bluesman,
I'm clearly stupid innocent victim here. I was new when I purchased this site and did not ask all the right questions.

The whole site is totally down now even though the complaint was only to 1 pg of the site. It wasn't any TM product or anything. It was some text the preious owner copied words for words on certain paragraphs. It was a remedy to some problem.

I will talk to a lawyer next week, but I want to know any members here has the same situation.....

Change and erase all you want.... I would bet they have screen shots of the site and changing it now will not really help in the long run.
