Campaign for .NYC:

http://icannwiki.org/FAQs_on_City_TLDs
Along with campaigns for other geo based cityTLD's including Berlin and Paris, I would have thought there would have been much more interest in registering .LA domains. It seems to me that at such time as .NYC is approved by ICANN, it will immediately legitimize .LA for use by Los Angeles based websites. To the extent that the success of .NYC will generate direct navigation traffic, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that people surfing the web will likely type popular generic keywords and phrases followed by the .LA TLD just out of curiousity.
Even before all this cityTLD buzz, I registered .LA names on the basis that these domains might one day become popular on their own accord, but with an actual push for cityTLD's in the offing it seems much more more likely to me that demand for .LA domains will significantly rise in the near future. I'd appreciate hearing opinions on this subject. Thanks.
