I've noticed a lot of NICE keywords still available for .nu

Are these names worth the reg fee? I did a forum search, and it looks like there hasn't been any discussion on this for about a year, except for a small one last month.

I saw another not so popular extension sell recently for hundreds of dollars, and that same keyword is available in .nu.

BTW: Looks like Namecheap only lets you reg for 2 yrs minimum, meaning a $50+ regfee.

Which other "not so popular extension" are you referring to?

I'd pass

I'd pass on the.nu. That's why there are good keywords left in that extension. It just isn't a very popular domain extension. Even if you had a great keyword, you most likely you wouldn't get very much for it. Besides, with the big reg fee like you mention, it' just not worth it. IMHO

IMO got for .cc instead. .nu is just simply too undeveloped.

Here in Sweden they were used alot before the .se became free for everyone to register. "nu" means "now" in swedish so that's why they were so popular... but as I said, not as popular now as it was some years ago...

.nu isn't the best for reselling IMO, but (as you said) many great keywords are available so if you plan to develop then go for it..
.nu is a bit more well known in Scandinavia (Norway/Denmark/Sweden) by the way, and I've seen several TV commercials that contains .nu names.
Nu does also mean "now" here.

I personally only own 2 .nu domains, and I'm quite happy with them.
One is developed, www.Healthcare.nu
and one is for sale www.Blackjack.nu , but I may develop it later.
The last one (blackjack.nu) gets a few daily type-ins by the way, so it pays for it's on reg/renewal fee... :)

In Holland/Netherlands it's considered to be a catchy name, just because what people mention above. It's also very popular for campaigns. Many big companies use it, like Lilly's Swedish advertising for CIALIS (erektion.nu = means Erection NOW). But also newcomers, like TV.NU (tv now) which got over 200 000 visitors a day or information sites like kondom.nu (condom now).

Anyway, I don't see any big market for it outside Sweden, Holland and Belgium.
Also, .NU names are often leaders in applying new things into your domain package.

FlexNames are one of their features, which allow you to CHANGE name every day if you wish, for 2 years. Price: $120. They also invented many other news. Read more at nunames.nu ;)

Only have two .NU myself :) I don't like them so much..
