What's the difference between NP$ and NP earned by clicking domain links?

I don't think there is a difference.. just two names for the same thing. Correct me if I'm wrong..

domain credits can only be used to register/renew domains or to get visitors through the clicks system.

Bingo! Credits are for domain registration through Np and Buying visits. But Np$ can be really converted and traded with others.

np$ you can use just about anywhere as forum currency, while the latter can only be used to purchase/register/renew domain as domain credit.

Just to add something else, I believe you can use NP$ for buying domains, as well as being able to use NP for buying domains.

yup, that's right, domain credit earned from http://www.namepros.com/npclicks.php are devoted to domain reg/ren only
