Question for RJ (or maybe someone else knows):
How did the whole NP$ thing get started? I´ve been thinking of setting up a local forum for my home town which I think would be a success.I thought about adding a currency but I am staying away from the idea because I don´t know how I would back up all this currency as the forum administrator.
Do you have a way of knowing how much NP$ is circulating? You have a mini-economy here!

Its hard to keep track of how much is circulating because it changes every minute. Someone will post, then they get NP$ for that post. Or someone will buy or sell something. I imagine that its hard to get a good economic community like the one NP has. It will take a long time for the currency to develop any value. :imho:

IMO, Ron was either VERY skillful, or VERY lucky, to get where he is, with NP$ now

Yep, it can`t be easy.I think it migt even be scary to think you have all this money under your responsability. There has to be a few thousand dollars around here.

Here's something that's "sorta" related to the way NP$ works but only on a local community scale that I thought you might all find interesting: http://www.ithacahours.com/

The forum currency is a great way to make the forum popular and to get people to participate.
Also the revenue sharing is excellent (although I haven´t made any money from it :P ).
RJ come to the thread and enlighten us please!
