The most important thing I saw in that article, from a .mobi perspective, was this:

"The Coca-Cola Company needs to continue to recruit future generations of consumers," said Mark Greatrex, senior vice president of marketing for Coca-Cola. "Mobile marketing is absolutely where it's at for us going forward."

That's music to my ears!

Sure from that perspective it's great news. I did check to see the Whois of SpriteYard.mobi and it's not regged by Coke but some other entity.

Thanks for the above info and links. I have some good contacts at Coke. I'll see what I can stir up in regards to their .mobi plans. Might even be able to wrangle a meeting and directly promote the mobi benefits to them. No promises but I will definitely make an effort. Thanks for the heads up !

Nice one COBO! This is the sort of action we all need to start doing to get the message spread as far as possible. As soon as the sounds of .mobi get chucked around board meetings thats when the tide will turn and away we go!

Probably the Coke marketing department regged the .com, not even knowing about .mobi. Then Marvellous comes in with the mobile knowledge and realizes that they need to grab the mobi.
