I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I have noticed that people with avatars usaually know more then people without avatars. The avatar itself have nothing to do with knoledge but the people who have them seem to know more then those who don't. But there are people with avatars that don't know what they are talking about and some people who are experts and don't have avatars, but this is the general.

I see what you mean QWert, but I don't think that's necessarily true.

I don't believe that not having an avatar, as said before, is any indication of your status, or level of knowledge. I think the content you post, and your way of writing (to a certain extent) are more 'reliable' signs of a person's personality/knowledge.

But yes, I see where you're coming from, and your rule may be "GENERALLY" true.

My opinion:)!

Yay! I don't have an avatar! Not the first time someone's called me an idiot, I suppose I can deal. :) LOL.

Oh wait. I guess I do have one. Geez. I don't even remember doing that. Looks like Axl Rose to me though. SING ALONG!!!

When I look into your eyes
I can see a love restrained
But darlin' when I hold you
Don't you know I feel the same

'Cause nothin' lasts forever
And we both know hearts can change
And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain

We've been through this such a long long time
Just tryin' to kill the pain

But lovers always come and lovers always go
An no one's really sure who's lettin' go today
Walking away

If we could take the time to lay it on the line
I could rest my head
just knowin' that you were mine
All mine
So if you want to love me
then darlin' don't refrain
Or I'll just end up walkin'
in the cold November rain

Do you need some time.. on your own
Do you need some time.. all alone
Everybody needs some time.. on their own
Don't you know you need some time.. all alone

I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

Sometimes I need some time.. on my own
Sometimes I need some time.. all alone
Everybody needs some time.. on their own
Don't you know you need some time.. all alone

And when your fears subside
and shadows still remain
I know that you can love me
when there's no one left to blame
So never mind the darkness
we still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
even cold November rain

Don't ya think that you need somebody
Don't ya think that you need someone
Everybody needs somebody
You're not the only one
You're not the only one

Users with avatar 3.13 % (360)
Users without avatar 96.87 % (11161)

Looks like the majority of the users on this forum have no avatar.

Actually you do have an avatar.

Why are so many of you mis-understanding what I am saying? I don't know what I can do to try to clarify what I am saying but I hope this will work.

As a GENERAL, not one person, people with avatars seem to know what they are talking about more then people without them. Having an avatar itself has nothing to do with if you know about domains. My thought on this is that people with avatars plan to stay at the forum longer, which then means they will learn more, which then again means they will know more.

Now get it right...

Why are you two guys bickering?

Maybe those 3% know more than anyone else :p

I don't think avatars have anything to do with intelligence...and that's the final point..

It's like saying, "I have a cow, so I'm better at dancing." 'Know what I mean?

Really, I just think this calls for more Guns N Roses!

Talk to me softly
There's something in your eyes
Don't hang your head in sorrow
And please don't cry
I know how you feel inside I've
I've been here before
Somethin's changin' inside you
And don't you know

Don't you cry tonight
I still love you baby
Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
there's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry tonight

Give me a whisper
And give me a sigh
Give me a kiss before you tell me goodbye
Don't you take it so hard now
And please don't take it so bad
I'll still be thinking of you
And the times we had... baby

Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
there's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry tonight

And please remember that I never lied
And please remember
how I felt inside now honey
You gotta make it your own way
But you'll be alright now sugar
You'll feel better tomorrow
Come the morning light now baby

And don't you cry tonight
An don't you cry tonight
An don't you cry tonight
there's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry
Don't you ever cry
Don't you cry tonight
Baby maybe someday
Don't you cry
Don't you ever cry
Don't you cry
Tonight

*feels relief for having an avatar after reading this* :D

Interesting post QWERT. I don't necessarily agree of course, but I appreciate Qwert's posting it for the purpose of discussion.

That would go into the realm of "correlation" kinda like saying everyone who plays the stock market makes a lot of money just because a few people do, which of course wouldn't be an accurate rule. That said, there is also some truth in what Qwert said, maybe not necessarily because people with/without avatars are better/worse but as matrics has said, people with avatars took the extra time to set it up and therefore are very motivated to make sure their posts are meaningful.

My personal take on this would perhaps be an adjustment to that generalization in that it isn't that people without avatars aren't making meaningful posts (they ARE), it's just that people with avatars just have the motivation to make more meaningful posts. Period.

It just so happens that because of the nature of their avatars, people tend to remember them and take notice of their posts more.

no offense..but i really really not agree that.. who has avatar are knowledgable persons..

can any budy explain why anyone becomes brillient suddenly with avatar..not in general also..

yes you can just do psychological observation or can judge person.. that how is he? his mentality.. like "manicgirl" chooses "lip" avatar [in my opinion] this ways she/he want to show that he/she is really a girl and may be want to show a girl type mentality

for example me "dotcommakers" i have used promotional text in my avatar.. so my mostly attitude is promotional.. [shhhh.....]

thats it for now :)

I get what your saying. But then, I have to admit that I'm an exception to that rule. :-/

welp, maybe Qwert just wants to point out that ppl with avatar/s values their forum membership, spending some time customizing their own graphic/s... thus ppl with more vision to build their identity.... but IMO... avatar has nothing to do with what the person is or what.... dumb or knowledgable

cheers!

Maybe those people who have an avatar is more willing to spend some time looking up something that in a way hopefully, represent themselves? That still does not make them more knowledgable than those who's not willing to spend the time though. It is all about how important their own images are to others, I guess.
