Hello colleagues,
A month ago, i started to listed my domains in Sedo, Flippa, Undeveloped, Afternic, in some domainers groups on Facebook, etc. Now I notice that there is no traffic or them - or the traffic felt down. Most ot them are parked, every recommendation from sites is added. All listings are free so far.
I tryed all sorts of experiments, I read in forums, but in vain.
No interest and No Responses.
Nowever.
The names are not bad (com, info, eu, biz) in groups on Facebook, I had few disscusions on price, but my first sale did not happen.
What, in your opinion am I doing wrong? And what can i do more?
That is a very stupid feeling...

Hi Gprod.

The link to your listings does not work for me as I do not have a Flippa account. I am new to the forum as well and |I am unsure if you are allowed to post links like you have to your listings. Probably not I would think - maybe someone else can clarify.

1 month is not a long time for sites to be left sat listed (rotting) on those forums and to not sell. I assume the inquiries you had came through the FB group. Which gives a big clue if you want to sell quickly. Actively reach out to buyers. If you continue with the FB group it sounds like you will sell. But you need to be realistic on price. Communicating one or more ideas behind the name can help to inspire people as well.

As a next step why not pick one and list on here? You will certainly get some eyes on and that should help you understand if the names and prices you have are good.

Drop or delete legokid domain. Trademark names are a big no no

Stick with com expiring domains with good keywords.

Yes, It's possible, maybe I have problelm with the prices.
Could you advice me how to calculate them?
There are some of my domains, do not look at the prices in Flippa or Sedo, they are not so clever:
.COM
GetSyn.com
LegoKid.com
DailyFreeBet.com
BeVig.com
CeskeBrambory.com (czesh words - czesh potatoes"")
x-xxl.com
CoatSuit.com
LegoTemplate.com
.EU
FreeWebsiteBuilder.eu
AwokatWroclaw.eu (polish wodrs - layer Wroclaw)
tiza.eu
VipBet.eu
brie.eu
FinancePlanner.eu
Other
kuchen.biz (german word for cake)
VeganShop.info
5211314.nl (I love ypu forever in chinese)
bndb.website (Bed'and'Breakfast...)

I agree with @silentg. Lego is a big no no and could land you in trouble.

Pricing is always tricky. Depends if you are in for a quick sale or the long haul (like years). There are sites like namebio.com where you can look up prices of sold names. You can look for ones similar to the ones you have as a guide.

You did well by listing the domains in as many places as possible.

Now your names aren't that good imo and I don't see how you would sell these within a month or so.

The .eu domains are a hard sell unless you contact endusers by yourself and even then you'll struggle to get good prices for them. The polish name might sell for about mid xxx if you get in touch with lawyers from Wroclaw. Finance Planner is a decent keyword name but the extension sucks...

From the "Other" category I like VeganShop.info but again it's a hard sell being a .info

Your .com domains are pretty much useless (no offence). Apart from DailyFreeBet and LegoKid I can't see any selling anytime soon. LegoKid is not that great and I can only see someone developing an "all lego" blog on it not a real business so it doesn't have much commercial value. DailyFreeBet sounds nice and would make a little betting affiliate site but I don't think affiliates have the firepower to pay 4 figures or more for a 3 word domain.

What I would do is to list them all at Buy it Now in all marketplaces you mentioned with prices between $100 to $300 and wait a couple of months, see if they sell.

Hope this helps

Hello,

Hello colleagues,
A month ago, i started to listed my domains in Sedo, Flippa, Undeveloped, Afternic, in some domainers groups on Facebook, etc. Now I notice that there is no traffic or them - or the traffic felt down.
That simply means nobody is looking for names like yours. How do you expect people to find you, if you don't have the sort of domains they would want to buy ?

The names are not bad (com, info, eu, biz)
If they are .biz .eu good how can they be good names ? :) </troll>

A few comments:
  • You have to be very patient in this industry. I mean be prepared to wait for years. But this only works for good domains. If you have bad domains and keep renewing them, it's not patience but stubbornness.
  • It's all about the inventory. Good names = good sales. Bad names = no sales.
  • Don't expect to sell handregs easily
  • You need to do more research: look at reported sales, avoid poor extensions, avoid TMs, concentrate on domains that are commercially viable...
I doubt any of your domains will ever sell. I would just write them off as education. Set the auto-renew to off and look forward to the savings next year :) Rather than buy dozens of domains that won't sell, buy just one or two good domains instead. Much less expensive to hold. Good luck.

It's because your domain names aren't good. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm being straightforward because others will likely say "just keep marketing your names, follow the latest trends, etc" but it's not constructive.

Say each domain in your portfolio cost $10 to register. You have 15, so that's $150 spend across 15 names. You could have instead invested in 1-5 quality domains, but it will take a while to understand which domains are good and which aren't.

My recommendations:
1. Drop all of your domains or just don't renew them.
2. Read as many articles/threads on NP as you can and don't spend a single dime until you do.
3. Check Namebio.com every day to see which types of domains are selling everyday, and understand why these types of names are selling
4. Look on Godaddy Auctions/Namejet/Flippa/etc at active auctions and do the same as #3 above.

Eventually, you'll be really eager to buy a domain or a few and you will have a much better understanding on what sells in this business. Just take the time to do so and don't rush. Best of luck.

Put them all at 'make offer' to see if there any interest

Quick thoughts on a few of them, as possible reasons.

LegoKid.com Trademark
DailyFreeBet.com Bet has a payoff, only a loss leading use. Hard sell
CeskeBrambory.com (czesh words - czesh potatoes"") Tiny amount of endusers?
CoatSuit.com Redundant?
LegoTemplate.com TM

All great comments and I agree with nearly everything said. The problem is not what you are doing with the domains, which is good, since you are using every possible venue to expose them to the world.

The domains are not good, but the main issue is that you need to work a little bit more on developing the skills to determine what is valuable and what is not. My recommendation would be that you stop buying and immerse yourself in reading and studying what and how others are selling well. Best wishes on your efforts.

There is a steep and sometimes expensive learning curve to domaining.

DailyFreeBet.com, brie.eu are good to have.

You should prepare yourself to drop some domains at renewal time and invest in better names then. Try to master .com first and keep reading here to improve your picking and understanding of what domains are worth.

Agreed. Stop buying. All you're doing right now is spending money on lottery tickets with a much, much worse payoff.

You need to be asking all these question before buying names. You shouldn't be spending good money on a name until you have a clear plan for how to sell it. You need to ask yourself:
  • How many potential end users could want this?
  • Does it get good search volume?
  • Does it sound good?
  • Does it have commercial applications? How can it be used?
  • How can you sell it?
  • What price range can you expect to get?

Thank you so much biggie and Joeguy1014.
After those domains I bought only 2 more... It's addictive.. to buy tickets with hope...:lookaround:
Now I already stopped buying domains. So, I'm reading...
Could you suggest me for trustful sources, except NP?
Thanks!

I can see some vale for
cheapcartridges.net
vaya.info
legokid.com
bevig.com
dailyfreebet.com

But all these domains are not even 2 months old. You need to check in lock in period before you can sell. Generally lock in period is 60 days. Do not waste your time in contacting any one. No one will respond for these names. After your lock in period list these on auction sites with Buy now price ($100-$150) not more than that no Make offer please

How on earth, or even in this universe do you see value for legokid? Or are you one of those buyers that thinks trademark holders will be nice to you and silently pass you by?
