Did anyone else get contacted from this email address? They are claiming to be ICANN and need me to verify contact info.

Is it legit?

Just searched for this email. I had a result with the subject of "ICANN inter-registrant transfer" that was for the transfer of a domain to another registrar. It was not a scam.

It was showing me the contact change after the transfer.

It was showing me the contact change.

If I recall, this was when moniker had huge security issues and loads of domains were stolen. Many people got out quick, including me.

The email they sent was scary in that it wasn’t clear if it was legit and they were changing domain status to client hold on domains that were in good standing. I eventually just clicked and verified my info. I’ve never used moniker since and won’t ever again.

Thanks Keith. I didn't realize how old this thread is and that it got bumped up today. For what it's worth, my transaction was in the last month or two and was not a scam nor did it require me to click on anything. It simply informed me of a contact change.

I looked at my mail history and there is nothing that indicates it is related to moniker, although it was.

Beware if you’re getting emails like this today.

I just got one today, along with my very first moniker aquired domain. 2 from moniker , and this 1 from [email protected] , attached screenshot of what you see when clicking link. so is this a scam or is it not ? I guess ill call moniker, but this thread was very back and forth so clarity on experience appreciated.
