Hi - would like some advice or peoples opinions on english word domains for non english speaking countries??

for example......uuum - i dont know??

www.hello.co.th (thailand)

(and no i am not about to register that hahahaha)

"hello" being an englsih word, and thailand speaking....well thai?? lol

Hope this makes sense?

Would just be interested in hearing some opinions as am quite interested in ccTLDs - but is it better to register in their native language?? or to register more generic english words??

regards

There are some exceptions, but generally minimal traffic / value, stick to the native language.

Usually, English versions have higher value because when you use English then you'll be expecting traffic from all over the world but if you use a native language then your "expected" traffic is restricted to the speakers of that language.
It depends on what the name can be used for, what non-English language you are using, and what ccTLD you are using.

What ccTLD's are you talking about, seems like flawed logic to me unless you're talking about quasi ccTLD's like .tv

I meant that the value of the IDN (i.e. non-English words in the name) would depend on the ccTLD that is used, for example a french word with .fr extension makes much more sense than the .us version of the same name.
