No Commission Domain Auctions, whats the catch. Since I am new I wanted to ask, been searching google for info and wanted the pro input here. Where do they make there money. The more I read about domaining the more I like it. Always been into(what most would consider off the wall) things like this.

Also a question concerning sedo. The visits to a sedo for sale page. The visits that show up, how do they track that. I have a page thats being redirected and since it's been at sedo I am showing like 12 or so visits but my domain tracker is showing like 87 from search engines. I have the domain being redirected and the hits are showing up in my V-Deck stats. Just trying to understand how sedos end works.

I am not sure what auction marketplace you are referring to. I would be wary of listing your domains on random auction sites. A good thing to do would be to check their Alexa traffic rank to see if you are wasting your time with a dead site.

I know that http://www.BQB.com does not take any commission fees because they make money from bonus features which cost small fees (like adding to additional category, etc.) and they also make some revenue from advertising.

As for the Sedo page views, they probably only track internal visits that come from their search results. This is to avoid artificially inflating a listings "popularity."

the landing page of SEDO (the parking page with the ads) is different from the For Sale page (the page with the domain description and the field where someone can send an offer)



SEDO counts both visits ... the first as Unique Views in the Parking Statistics Overview of the Control Panel ... and the second as Views of Offer in the Sales Overview in the Control Panel



usually the Views of Offer are less than Unique Views because not all people that go to the parking page click on the link to go to the For Sale page (though there might be a few more going straight to the For Sale page from SEDO search)
